★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful school with great resources in the library. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the community treats visitors very kindly.
The shared rooms are a bit small and the shared bathroom is tiny, but fine for the price we paid. I remember the place being nice and quiet as we slept, except for a bit of construction not too far away.
Dinner here is excellent, albeit a bit expensive. Definitely make sure you go to the bar, a wonderful place for coffee.
The resources here, especially for architecture are great, but the theology books were good too. A nice little gem for scholars near Trastevere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A magic place in Rome. You need to be a member , friend of the academy, to have access to this academy where artists in residence fellows live. Members enjoy art activities, conferences. There are a few days in a year when it opens its doors to public for exhibits. Be on the watch out and do not miss these opportunities. You may also enjoy its weekly free half hour guided tours which needs advance registration. Such a well-kept place. Its setting, gardens are pure joy. It is also the pioneer of sustainable food project and member of Rome”s slow food community. Suggest check out the project’s internship program. The Villa Aurelia building of the American Academy can be booked for events. Many celebrities had taken advantage of it for their weddings.
