Albergo Il Borgo Vecchio - Ristorante e Hotel ad Asti e Alba

Lo frequento come ristorante da anni e mi sono sempre trovato bene. Gestori cordiali ed educati, cibo sempre di prima qualità e prezzi onesti, sempre.

Bellissima terrazza panoramica buon cibo e buon vino. Cucina classica piemontese, luogo molto adatto alla conversazione o una cena romantica. Personalmente lo consiglio, un po' di pressapochismo nel conto e il menù a voce non permette di sapere quanto si va a spendere, però resta un ottimo ristorante. Rapporto qualità prezzo così così!

Soggiorno di lavoro, 3 camere molto piccole, con doccia piccolissima. Tutte e 3 senza aria condizionata (presente sulle prenotazioni), e solo in 2 un piccolo ventilatore. Cena in loco con menù tipico con un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Al momento della richiesta dell'ora di inizio colazione (compresa e già pagata) ci viene detto che essendo domenica non sarebbe stata servita prima delle 8, peccato che noi alle 7 saremmo usciti.....Ci aspettavamo uno sconticino, visto il pagamento anticipato, e invece ci è stato chiesto il costo del permesso di soggiorno. Quindi chek out inesistente, chiavi lasciate in camera...... Peccato, anche perchè oltre a noi altri ospiti sono usciti presto.....Ci vuole poco per rovinare un soggiorno...

Ci siamo stati durante le vacanze qui in Piemonte. Ristorante intimo,abbiamo cenato sulla terrazza con vista sulla vallata al tramonto. Veramente incantevole. Cucina tipica piemontese, molto buona. Abbiamo ordinato del carpaccio di carne con scaglie di grana,dei tagliolini con i porcini e la trippa. Tutto veramente buono, accompagnato da un ottimo Barbera. Prezzi OTTIMI! Complimenti alla signora che vi ha servito! Da provare!

The view from there is just stipendous

Great food in a pleasant atmosphere, with very friendly service at an excellent price. Good views too! Don't miss it if you are around

We arrive at 22:00 one saturday, one hour earlier than agreed, since we tried to speed up things, after having been told, on the phone, that they would "resign themselves" to waiting for us at 23:00. Note that this is a regular hotel, not a B&B. Anyway: a man meets us and asks, rather rudely: "what do you want here?" (in Italian, of course: we are all italians. His exact words are "ma voi cosa volete, qui?"). We reply, rather astonished by the reception, that we have booked a room for the night and that we tried to get here as early as we could; the guy then yells to someone invisible "here are the guys of 23:00! come here". Then we wait maybe 15 minutes, standing, and nothing happens. Finally a lady appears, mumbles some apologies, and leads us to the room. Which is not bad, but under the roof (a "mansarda", but a very low one), and one can not stand either at the WC or in front of the washing basin, and can not raise from the bed without hitting the ceiling with his head. And I am 1.90, unfortunately; but also my wife has to go around bent in two. The hotel does not look full (maybe it is, though), but the owners do not seem to think that this room is unfit for us. We say nothing, anyway. There are 4 or 5 windows in the room, one of which is a Velux on the roof just above my place in the bed: all have no shades, so that at dawn one can not sleep anymore, and during the night the lights from the street keep the room very bright. All the doors creak very loudly on their hinges ... some maintenance is badly needed, there. In the bathroom there is no toilet paper! the shower is full of calcium deposits, so that water comes out random, in trickles. And so on ... too bad, because the location is quite nice, on the top of a hill, with a beautiful view and in a nice old building. Breakfast was also good. But we did not have a good experience, on the whole; and we were specially astonished by the poor reception from the fellow who first met us. We did not try the restaurant, which was populated when we arrived. Maybe the place is good for dining; but for spending nights, at least in our room, not at all.
