This place had great atmosphere, and great staff, I'd recommend visiting for the looks but definitely stay for the food, looks simple but tastes amazing. The pasta was really good and the wine was excellent ... also don't skip the deserts. Thank me later.

Tucked away in a corner away from the tourist traps trying to get you to come inside near Fontana Trevi, Al Gallinaccio looks unassuming but has more of a local feel, and does some local twists on classic Roman pastas, such as carbonara with black truffle. The caprese was fresh and delicious. Also got the gricia with carciofi (artichoke), which was also great - you could taste the quality of the pasta, sauce, guanciale, artichoke, and other ingredients. If they offer you tiramisu, take it!

By far the best Carbonara i have ever eaten. Everything was fresh, homemade and seasoned on point. I highly recommend visitors to come by to this traditional italian restaurant. The prices are fair and this place is far from anything like a tourist trap. definitely a gem worth visiting.

Our Airbnb host works here and suggested we come, so of course we had to, but we were not disappointed! Even on the way in, another English-speaking patron was leaving and she told us, β€œGood choice!,” as we entered. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and patient with us, as we had just come in from a very long day of walking around the city. Straying from the usual pasta and pizza I had been consuming throughout the week, I decided to try their Lamb dish, as it was labeled a traditional dish of Rome. It was a bit interesting at first β€” as I’m not a big fan of picking around bones β€” but it was very delicious, and I soon became more than happy to pick it up with my hands, eating the meat straight off the bones like a chicken wing. I definitely recommend it for those looking for a different, but traditional dish of Rome; the lamb had such excellent flavor. My partner got the creamy, peppered tonarelli, which hasn’t disappointed in this city yet. Overall, amazing restaurant that wasn’t too crowded during the week. Thank you Fernando for the recommendation!

This place is a street further from the touristy area, so it's pretty quiet. We were the only group seated outside across from the main entrance, but the server was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations. My favorite was the seafood pasta, very light and tasty.
