★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the worst hotel room I've ever stayed at and I'm 76 years old.
It measures 2m by 4 Mts and the bed is on a mezzanine reached by spiral staircase. The bathroom is tiny and I doubt if the accomodation would pass a habitation certificate in Australia. Th house is fantastic but several things are a let down. Wifi signals is weak. Breakfast starts at 8am. No cooked breakfast offered. No toast/toaster.
How it scores so highly has me amazed. I suspect some meddling by the owner. DO NOT STAY HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OVER 60.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Villa Bissinigar is an excellent Hotel of the highest standards and can proudly compete with the premium Houses of excellence in Europe. Overlooking Lago Maggiore this historic Villa with a pool and lovely Terraces overlooking the valley and the lake has historic rooms, historical furniture, however always immaculate and to the highest standard up to the brass armatures in the bathroom. Painted ceilings, historic wooden doors are refining this excellent Villa. The staff is alert, helpful and does an excellent service. The restaurant serves a 6 course menu of highest standard, the breakfast is excellent, even to English standard. Fresh fruit and good wines are part of this Agroturismos own premises. All rooms have air conditioning if needed in the wonderful temperate climate at the Lagos clear waters

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful building in an incredible location. Ate in the restaurant one night and food was really good.
Our room was at the top of the house so got pretty hot at night, but that's just the nature of the building.
The pool is a real plus on a hot day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place, a real piece of history. The room was very nice but it was in the attic and had a specific smell (old house smell) witch we could not feel anymore when they started to prepare dinner. Than everything smelled like the kitchen.
The internet is rather bad, the tv did not really work but the pool was wonderful.
The food was ok if you love meet but we hoped for some salad too.
Overall it was a nice visit with room for improvement if you consider the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful villa with about ten rooms beautifully cared. The garden is beautiful, green with a magnificent stone pool, that can be used as swimming pool also. There is a wonderful restaurant that serves exquisite food. The courtesy of the staff is superb. Lastly there is a great breakfast. Recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came across Villa Bissniga a little bit by chance when researching our wedding venues in 2019. And we are glad we did.
First of all the venue is just perfect for weddings.
Most of our guests ended up staying in the Villa, which meant that we had the place to ourselves - no worries about annoying other hotel guests.
Secohe the food was delicious. They also produce excellent red, white and rose wines.
The Villa itself is stunning, with beautiful interiors and grounds. It has a natural pool with clear water. We ended up spending a lot of time in and around it, and so did our guests. The proximity of the bar and the excellent drinks and food available there made it even more pleasurable.
And last but not least, the owners and all the staff are extremely helpful and super friendly.
In 2020, due to COVID, we had to postpone our wedding by a year. Francesca made it not only possible but also made sure that things went as smoothly humanly possible on the day itself.
Overall, our wedding was just perfect, and the Villa played a crucial role.
