Da segnalare che l'unico servizio offerto è la colazione abbondante ma un po lenta. La piscina idromassaggio risulta non funzionante, il loro allevamento per guardare gli animali è lontano e non visitabile. Materassi vecchi con le molle non comodissimi però pulizia impeccabile. Lassù solo il silenzio, il vento, il verde. Vi si respira lo spirito dei boschi e della solitudine, dell’intimità con la natura e con gli orizzonti aperti dell’Amiata, come all’eremo di David Lazzaretti, sul Monte Labbro poco distante. Non venga quassù chi cerca l’ansia del contemporaneo, le connessioni stabili, gli accessori fine a se stessi. Vige qui un’altra legge, un altro tempo, quello dell’ascolto e della conversazione, della contemplazione e del ritorno all’essenziale. La signora Nicolina è arguta, ironica e disponibilissima. Suo figlio Michele, appassionato allevatore di cani, sa farsi valere in cucina e prepara, per chi vuole una colazione salata, deliziose omelette al formaggio. La colazione è a base di prodotti naturali e freschissimi, come la ricottina appena fatta o le squisite polentine di castagne o le confetture e i dolci fatti in casa. Purtroppo non servono più la cena, per la quale andavano famosi e che ci avrebbe sicuramente entusiasmato. Le camere hanno tutte nomi di fiori (la nostra era la “Non ti scordar di me”), sono charmant, pulitissime e godono di una vista che allarga il cuore. La cura e l’attenzione che pongono verso ogni esigenza non sono mai solo formali e la conoscenza con Nicolina, Michele e l’altro figlio Luca non sono sicuramente l’ultima ragione per passare qualche giorno ai Rondinelli. The care and attention they pay to every need are never just formal and the acquaintance with Nicolina, Michele and their other son Luca are certainly not the last reason to spend a few days at the Rondinellis. These are meetings that remain.

Negative: A terrible experience We booked two rooms for 4 people, one room had 4 beds, the other had a double bed. We needed to sleep on separate beds, but we were told that for using other beds than double beds we had to pay extra charge (like for another person in the room). The staff can speak neither English nor German, so the deal was lengthy and complicated. The rooms were cold, there were no extra blankets, only on request. Because of the seminar program, we needed a breakfast at 7 AM, which was not possible (only after 8 AM). Although we did not want daily cleaning for privacy reasons, our room was cleaned every day (but the towels were not exchanged once). At the end, the owner sent us to the hell when we refused to pay for extra beds..

Negative: We felt overcharged for dinner. 1 set dinner meal was 30 Euros, which wasn't fantastic. We didn't eat some of the food, as they didn't have vegetarian options. Eventually hosts charged us $40 for 2 set dinners after negotiating. Breakfast didn't have a good variety of food. (bread, biscuits and a hot drink) It was difficult to comunicate with the hosts as they spoke little or no English. But was quite funny sometimes... as we used google translate to translate what each other was saying. Location is not accessible unless you have a car..
