M	Marco Miglionico on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un posto scoperto quasi per caso. Un luogo che ti trasporta in tempi antichi attraverso l'architettura barocca e la pace che regna in tutto il contesto. Se siete di passaggio dovete assolutamente fermarvi, foto interessanti e sensazioni piacevoli vi aspettano. A place discovered almost by chance. A place that transports you to ancient times through the Baroque architecture and the peace that reigns throughout the context. If you are passing through, you must absolutely stop, interesting photos and pleasant sensations await you.
C	Cristina on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo pieno di fascino in mezzo alla campagna, non lontano dal mare da cui un tempo i pellegrini partivano per la terra Santa dopo la visita a monte Sant'Angelo. C'era anche un ospedale per i malati ad oggi non visitabile. Le cose migliori dell' abbazia sono le decorazioni scolpite a bassorilievo accanto all'attuale ingresso laterale: la natività con adorazione dei magi e l'arcangelo Michele, belle anche le semplici facciate in pietra locale. Il convento annesso, nuovamente abitato, è in ristrutturazione. Merita una visita, magari il 21 giugno quando a mezzogiorno un raggio di sole entra da una piccola finestra strombata illuminando un punto preciso sul pavimento. Certo non ci sarà la pace che ho trovato io! A place full of charm in the middle of the countryside, not far from the sea from which pilgrims once left for the Holy Land after visiting Monte Sant'Angelo. There was also a hospital for the sick that cannot be visited today. The best things about the abbey are the decorations carved in bas-relief next to the current side entrance: the nativity with adoration of the magi and the archangel Michael, beautiful even the simple facades in local stone. The adjoining convent, which has been inhabited again, is undergoing renovation. It is worth a visit, perhaps on 21 June when a ray of sunshine enters through a small splayed window at noon, illuminating a specific point on the floor. Certainly there will be no peace that I have found!

J	Jhosè Gaio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'abbazia sorge ai piedi del monte Gargano sulla via francigena dei pellegrini. Fu fondata nel 1127 dall'ordine monastico degli Agostiniani. Sotto il regno angioino passò ai cavalieri teutonici. Nel XV sec. passò sotto l'amministrazione del cardinale Sclafinato di Parma. Nel XVIII sec. subbentrarono I Francescani. Molto bello è intarsiato il portale d'ingresso con scene del vecchio e nuovo testamento. La chiesa é a tre navate divise da pilastri a croce con volte a semibotte e cupole. All'interno troviamo il foro gnomonico attraverso il quale a mezzogiorno del solstizio d'estate un raggio di sole penetra disegnando un cerchio di luce tra I due pilastri della navata centrale. Il crocifisso è una copia dell'originale di S. Leonardo del.XIII sec. custodito nella cattedrale. Nella chiesa c'è la statua di S. Leonardo patrono dei prigionieri con in mano le catene che sono il simbolo della liberazione dei prigionieri dalle catene del peccato. Under the Angevin reign it passed to the Teutonic knights. In the fifteenth century. it passed under the administration of Cardinal Sclafinato of Parma. In the eighteenth century. the Franciscans took over. The entrance portal is very beautiful inlaid with scenes from the old and new testament. The church has three naves divided by cross pillars with semi-barrel vaults and domes. Inside we find the gnomonic hole through which at noon of the summer solstice a ray of sunlight penetrates, drawing a circle of light between the two pillars of the central nave. The crucifix is a copy of the original of S. Leonardo from the 13th century. kept in the cathedral. Il portale con i suoi bassorilievi merita una osservazione accurata per coglierne i particolari, cosí come l'interno, sobrio e nobile allo stesso tempo. La comunità religiosa che la abita ha un interessante testimonianza di vita.
