D	Domenico Mirabella on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendida abbazia ubicata appena usciti dallo svincolo di Tocco da Casauria, un sito non molto pubblicizzato ma che consiglio di visitare a pochi chilometri da Pescara. Eretto nel IX secolo, si presenta con un bellissimo portale istoriato che sovrasta il grande portone centrale in legno. All'interno si presenta piuttosto spoglio, ma con al centro un meraviglioso ambone e poco distante un bellissimo cero pasquale. Sull'altare spicca un ciborio dalla volta affrescato che protegge un sarcofago monumentale. Dal presbiterio poi, è possibile accedere alla cripta, luogo ove venivano custoditi santi e abati. All'esterno troviamo l'annesso Museo, ad ingresso gratuito, con una discreta raccolta di reperti archeologici della zona. Tutt'intorno un giardino fa da complemento al sito, rendendo il tutto un luogo piacevole da visitare. Beautiful abbey located as soon as you exit the Tocco da Casauria junction, a site not very publicized but that I recommend to visit a few kilometers from Pescara. Built in the 9th century, it has a beautiful historiated portal that overlooks the large central wooden door. Inside it is rather bare, but with a wonderful ambo and a beautiful Easter candle nearby. On the altar stands a ciborium from the frescoed vault that protects a monumental sarcophagus. From the presbytery, it is possible to access the crypt, a place where saints and abbots were kept. Outside we find the attached Museum, with free admission, with a discreet collection of archaeological finds from the area. All around, a garden complements the site, making it a pleasant place to visit.

Ho chiamato e mi è stato detto che è chiusa al pubblico, non x il covid. Ho chiesto ulteriore spiegazione, ma "non poteva rispondere". Senza parole! abbiamo così tanto da mostrare al mondo e non sappiamo/vogliamo farlo. Povero Abruzzo mio, meravigliosa terra amara My husband and I wanted to go in and visit the abbey. Unfortunately, contrary to what is indicated on the site, it was closed. I called and was told it's closed to the public, not covid. I asked for further explanation, but "could not answer". Without words! we have so much to show the world and we don't know / want to. My poor Abruzzo, wonderful bitter land

Per la sua importanza storica - artistica, nonché per lo stato di conservazione è da visitare assolutamente. L'annesso antiquarim e l'esterno, completano l'interessante visita. Personale disponibile e cordiale, anche in questi tempi di pandemia. The abbey is located at the exit of the Torre de'Passeri - Casauria motorway exit. For its historical - artistic importance, as well as for the state of conservation it is absolutely worth visiting. The annex antiquarim and the exterior complete the interesting visit. Helpful and friendly staff, even in these pandemic times.

Unica pecca: ho trovato solo 2 qrcod e nessuna guida ; ci è stato consegnato solo un piccolissimo depliant riassuntivo. Per la bellezza e il potenziale che ha questo luogo ,fossi nella regione Abruzzo, farei un po' di più per l'informativa e divulgazione. Per il mese di agosto 2021 gli orari sono 10.00- 13.00 e 14.30- 17.30 Top star! Excellently preserved and restored. The walls exude history. Admission is free. Accessible for the disabled. Spotless bathrooms. The only flaw: I found only 2 qrcods and no guide; we were only given a very small summary brochure. For the beauty and potential that this place has, if I were in the Abruzzo region, I would do a little more for information and disclosure. For the month of August 2021 the opening hours are 10.00-13.00 and 14.30-17.30
