★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grandioso tempio, ampliato per volontà di San Carlo Borromeo, testimonia un antico splendore, che purtroppo si sta perdendo.
L’abbazia, dedicata ai santi Tommaso e Andrea, subì nel secolo scorso un rovinoso incendio. I recenti lavori di restauro hanno riportato alla luce gli originali colori e ori delle cappelle laterali.
All’Interno sono conservate pregevoli opere d’arte, come delle tele del Paglia e la venerata “Madonna del Castello”.
Ancora oggi le celebrazioni liturgiche sono officiate con grande attenzione e solennità.
A grandiose temple, enlarged by the will of St. Charles Borromeo, testifies to an ancient splendor, which unfortunately is being lost.
The abbey, dedicated to Saints Thomas and Andrew, suffered a ruinous fire in the last century. Recent restoration works have brought to light the original colors and gold of the side chapels.
In the interior are valuable works of art, such as paintings by Paglia and the venerated "Madonna del Castello".
Even today the liturgical celebrations are officiated with great attention and solemnity.
