★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice little restaurant run by food enthusiasts who dare to challenge the traditional (dare to say boring?) Sicilian cuisine and take it to the next level. A pleasant culinary surprise near the center, where you otherwise only find bars and pizza places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely perfect experience. Likely one of the very best meals I have had in years, and I do tend to travel and taste quite a bit.
The service was absolutely superlative, and a great match of every course with an appropriate wine/liquour was proposed. I deeply admired the passion and knowledge of the subtleties of the local products, and the capability of matching them with the specifc course.
The courses themselves were an absolute feast of senses, witht he crunchy octopus coocked to perfection, keeping the taste and consistency at its best, while giving a tasty shell. The second course orata was just sublime, likely among the very best fish courses I have had in years. The taste of the fish was marked and dominant, and indicated clearly the freshness and quality of the produce, and it was matched exquisitely with aromes of the "guazza". The cooking was perfect, providing the tasty crunchiness where needed and the softness of the texture of the fish elsewhere.
The dessert was up to the same level, and matched perfectly with a strong local liquour.
Even the bread was perfect.
The only very minor note is that I'd suggest changing the legs of a few of the tables, as those reserved for couples or single customers look traditional but can, at times, be slighly unconfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very cozy restaurant in the heart of Messina. The menu changes daily and is traditional food from the area, with what I assume is a bit of a modern flare. The ambiance is terrific, great for families with older kids, for two or with friends. A great hidden gem in the city!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Did not expect that they could spoil porcini mushrooms.. very unfortunate. Two things were good: charisma of the waiter and the wine. Not worth the prices.
