★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brilliant food and ambience. I had to try the taglietelle a ragu and was not disappointed ??! The prices are also pretty good for such a lovely looking restaurant. Good options for veggies and vegans. Also brilliant service from start to finish. Loved it and would definitely go here again!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is 10 minutes walking from the main square of the city (Piazza Maggiore).
The restaurant is well decorated and characteristic.
The owner and the waiters are well prepared and very nice.
The choices in the menu are quite varied. You can taste some classic Bologna dishes and the quality of the food is really good.
The wine was suggested by the waiter and it was very good.
I am very satisfied with the experience of the restaurant, when I'll go back to Bologna I'll pay another visit for sure.

Our Steak tartare was beautifully presented and the Mushroom pie with ricotta cheese and creamy Parmesan was a dish we never experienced before. Both we would order again and again.
My Tortellini “a balus” was cooked in brodo and finished with Parmesan and truffle, a twist from the normal Tortellini Soup. My husband had Tagliatelle with wild boar ragu. The wild boar was medium ground meat so you could taste it in each bite. Wonderful. Coming back in April and will certainly revisit this restaurant.
If you have read our reviews before you may think that we always rate high. Not true. We definitely do our homework and only go to restaurants that are given high ratings by the general public.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing authentic Italian food in a great location. This restaurant is a lot bigger than you think from the outside and has a very roomy atmosphere and even a courtyard to eat outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite food experience in Italy. I came to Bologna specifically for the great food they're known for. Found A Balùs near my hotel, came for lunch and had to come back for dinner.
Lunch, tavern: Buffalo ricotta tortelloni with porcini mushroom, and tagliatelle with wild boar ragù. I was given a discount for not finishing my food. Thank you, but that's absolutely my fault!
Dinner, main dining room: mortadella, salami and parm starter, tortellini in brodo, duck, and 2016 La Magia Brunello di Montalcino (amazing)
The food was simple and delicious as expected. I must add that their wine selection is incredible.
