M	Marco Cocciniglia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mi sono imbattuto in questo borgo, mentre andavo da Venezia a Verona, via statale. Non ne conoscevo nemmeno l'esistenza, e sono rimasto colpito dalle mura. Sono veramente ben conservate e .. monumentali. All'interno vi è un piccolo borgo e a ridosso vi sono delle abitazioni I came across this village, on my way from Venice to Verona, via the state road. I didn't even know it existed, and I was struck by the walls. They are really well preserved and ... monumental. Inside there is a small village and there are houses close to it

Un bel borgo dove si respira ancora aria di medioevo dalle mura e dalle facciate delle case che richiamano i fasti del passato. Salendo al mastio che si può visitare per una cifra irrisoria si può osservare tutto il borgo e oltre per chilometri. Non mancano trattorie tipiche e ristoranti più "in" per un buon pranzo o una cena gourmet. Bella la piazza del duomo che riprende lo stesso disegno della piazza omonima di Venezia, e dove si concentrano i bar e le attività di ristoro. Da visitare assolutamente. Non tornate da Montagnana senza aver acquisto il loro prosciutto crudo dolce tipico del luogo. Montagnana is the European city with the best preserved medieval walls ever. A beautiful village where you can still breathe the air of the Middle Ages from the walls and facades of the houses that recall the glories of the past. Going up to the keep, which can be visited for a negligible amount, you can see the whole village and beyond for kilometers. There is no shortage of typical trattorias and more "in" restaurants for a good lunch or gourmet dinner. The piazza del duomo is beautiful, which takes up the same design as the square of the same name in Venice, and where the bars and refreshment activities are concentrated. To visit absolutely. Do not go back to Montagnana without buying their typical sweet raw ham of the place.

Suggestive le case addossate, tuttavia con le loro antenne vanno a deturpare la veduta esterna delle mura. Ciò non toglie comunque il fascino complessivo di queste mura, che meritano una visita. Si può passeggiare attorno lungo tutto il perimetro Fantastic, very well preserved artifact that surrounds the large historic center of Montagnana. The leaning houses are suggestive, however with their antennas they deface the external view of the walls. However, this does not detract from the overall charm of these walls, which are worth a visit. You can walk around along the entire perimeter

Girandoci attorno, si trovano le varie porte di accesso e ciò che rimane delle opere difensive della città. Uno sguardo attento, può soffermarsi sui resti di antiche cappelle religiose, una volta esistenti e ora andate distrutte, ma individuabili ancora per la presenza di tracce pittoriche presenti sulle murature. Una bella passeggiata tutta attorno alle mura, dentro e fuori, è sicuramente da consigliare. The ancient walls totally surround the whole fortified town. Turning around, you will find the various access gates and what remains of the defensive works of the city. A careful look can focus on the remains of ancient religious chapels, once existing and now destroyed, but still identifiable by the presence of pictorial traces on the walls. A nice walk all around the walls, inside and out, is definitely to be recommended.

A	Alex Haas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were staying in nearby Guarda Veneta and looked for a town to visit. We didn't wanna see a big town, but something smaller and less-known. We haven't heard of Montagnana before, but just seen some pics online. So headed here and parked just outside of the walls on the Viale Spalato. Free and safe! The walls and the town itself are incredibly well-preserved and an impressive piece of architecture. The walls around town are really complete...and they really DO surround the whole town. It's nice just to walk around it, makes some nice pics. But be sure to get into town as well. Lots of nice sights and good restaurants and desserts. We came on a sunday and the town was pretty much deserted....except for some locals. And our car the only one on the parcheggio. We enjoyed having the town for ourselfes. If you don't mind that many stores are closed, then sunday it should be. It is quite stunning, that this fantastic place isn't more well-known. Still a bit of a secret. But among Italians it seems famous enough, there are festivities in and around the walls quite regularly.
