★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piacevole sorpresa sulla strada per l'oasi Lipu di Masssciuccoli. Resti di una Villa Romana del I sec. D.C. che possedeva anche le terme private, come poche altre (Adriano a Tivoli per esempio). Dall'alto della collina, bella vista fino al lago. Atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante
 Pleasant surprise on the way to the Lipu oasis of Masssciuccoli. Remains of a Roman Villa of the 1st century A.D. which also owned private spas, like few others (Adriano in Tivoli for example). From the top of the hill, beautiful view to the lake. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima villa e bel sito termale romano, molto interessanti i particolari costruttivi che si denotano nelle murature perimetrali. Pavimento flottante e camini alle murature si vedono benissimo. Panorama stupendo e sentiero di accesso piacevole ed in salita. Peccato per qualche cartello informativo cancellato dal tempo. Consigliato!
Beautiful villa and beautiful Roman spa site, very interesting construction details that are shown in the perimeter walls. Floating floors and fireplaces on the walls can be seen very well. Wonderful panorama and pleasant and uphill access path. Too bad for some information sign canceled by time. Recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La villa è stata costruita nei primi decenni del I secolo d.c. ed apparteneva alla ricchissima famiglia pisana dei Venulei. La villa era posizionata nello spazio attualmente occupato dalla Pieve di San Lorenzo, a cui si era aggiunta, al livello inferiore, la parte termale della quale ancora oggi possiamo ammirare i ruderi. La vista sul lago di Massaciuccoli è incantevole, nel suo insieme i ruderi della villa Venulei sono talmente scenografici che da qualche anno sono stati qui celebrati diversi matrimoni civili.
The villa was built in the first decades of the first century AD and belonged to the very wealthy Pisan family of the Venulei. The villa was located in the space currently occupied by the Parish Church of San Lorenzo, to which was added, at the lower level, the thermal part of which we can still admire the ruins. The view of Lake Massaciuccoli is enchanting, as a whole the ruins of the Villa Venulei are so scenic that several civil marriages have been celebrated here for some years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interessante da visitare dopo aver visto il museo con una casa romana sulla strada più a valle. In questa villa sono ancora visibili la fontana interna, le terme, parte dei cunicoli del riscaldamento sotterraneo, la zona latrina. Vista molto bella sul lago.
Interesting to visit after seeing the museum with a Roman house on the road further downstream. In this villa you can still see the internal fountain, the baths, part of the underground heating tunnels, the latrine area. Very beautiful view of the lake.
