Sede dell'Università Parthenope utilizzata per seminari, corsi e numerosi eventi. La vista sul golfo di Napoli è favolosa. Crazy panorama, every photo is a postcard. Non altrettanto notorio - forse - è che la sede dell'Università Partenope di Napoli sia così incredibilmente capace di stupire e ricordare il tempo in cui Napoli era all'avanguardia in Europa. Oggettivamente da visitare anche per le belle sale. One of the treasures of Naples ... from the Posillipo hill the view is wonderful and this is already well known. Not so well-known - perhaps - is that the seat of the Partenope University of Naples is so incredibly capable of surprising and remembering the time when Naples was at the forefront of Europe. La struttura sorge su di un grande banco tufaceo, con il quale sembra formare un tutt'uno. La sala interna reca alle pareti vari specchi con decorazioni a motivi pompeiani. Nel 1880 il Principe Doria d’Angri vi ospitò per otto mesi il compositore tedesco Richard Wagner, che qui compose il primo atto del "Parsifal" e scrisse "La mia vita". Oggi è proprietà dell’Università Parthenope, sede di congressi universitari e di un Museo Navale. Una splendida terrazza affaccia sul golfo di Napoli abbracciando il Vesuvio, la Costiera Sorrentina e l'isola di Capri. Important neoclassical villa in Palladian style with Ionic columns, commissioned by Prince Marcantonio Doria d'Angri (1809-1837) of the Genoese family, designed by the architect Bartolomeo Grasso. The structure stands on a large tufaceous bank, with which it seems to form a whole. The internal room has on the walls various mirrors with decorations with Pompeian motifs. In 1880 Prince Doria d'Angri hosted the German composer Richard Wagner for eight months, who composed the first act of "Parsifal" here and wrote "La mia vita". Today it is owned by the Parthenope University, home to university conferences and a Naval Museum. A splendid terrace overlooks the Gulf of Naples embracing Vesuvius, the Sorrento Coast and the island of Capri.

Nel 1880 Villa Doria d’Angri ospitò per diversi mesi Richard Wagner. Qui il compositore tedesco continuò a lavorare alla sua ultima grande opera il “Parsifal” e scrisse il libro autobiografico “La mia vita”. Sul patio prospiciente il Salone della Villa, il 22 maggio 1880 il maestro Joseph Rubinstein eseguì in anteprima al pianoforte il primo atto del “Parsifal”. Da allora la sala dove soggiornò Wagner, detta anche sala degli Specchi, è stata denominata “Sala Wagner”. Oggi la villa fa parte del patrimonio immobiliare dell'Università degli studi Parthenope di Napoli. Il luogo in cui sorge è uno dei più belli e panoramici di Napoli, infatti, dalle terrazze, lo sguardo abbraccia l'intero golfo. Peccato che la si possa visitare solo per pochi giorni l'anno.
