It is now an integral part of the waterfront. That the restyling has been successful is testified by the many children and their families who crowd the villa, while before it was very little frequented. Personally I would put a few other trees, perhaps with deciduous leaves, because the area is a bit sunny in summer. It must be remembered that the International Camping was originally located there, a campsite in the city near the sea. Closed the camping, the area has been abandoned and partly destined for the Naval League. The municipal administration of the time (I believe the first Gianni Calabretta council) demolished the many eucalyptus and converted the area into a municipal villa. The junta in question had many excellent insights for Soverato (one above all the promenade closed to traffic), but the result on the villa was clumsy and unsightly: sunny, a pond of putrid water, fake ruins in reinforced concrete, an amphitheater that periodically flooded, fountains that dispensed brackish water (in spite of infiltrations!), a true oasis for mosquitoes. Villa partially redeveloped by the Mancini junta (eliminating the pond to make room for decorative fountains, planting palm trees on the waterfront). It is with the recent restyling (with the Alecci council) that the area has been exploited well: fitness trails, skateboard tracks, children's games, decorative fountains. Even the space subtracted from the inside to create parking spaces is well thought out. However, there is no fountain, which is always appropriate where children are stationed. Negative, to be resolved: the bad smell coming from the gully that flows into the sea. The recent Alecci council has also done questionable things, think of the plants uselessly uprooted in the waterfront area or the useless and insipid square that has risen in place of the petrol station, but on the villa promoted to the great. Overall: enjoyable villa.
