And remember that you have to pay a €6 enterance fee before you enter the park..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning must visit! Make sure to be prepared for a short but real hiking tour, so pack proper clothes, food and drinks and wear good shoes. Helmets are mandatory but can be rented at the visitor center.

We did it with a toddler in a backpack carrier - great experience.

If you're interested in geology, you may learn a lot about the history of the alps, if you're not, you may still enjoy a "gorgeous" hike in and around the site itself. Be careful, though, even the guided hike through the gorge may prove difficult for untrained or ill-equipped people. The center will provide you with helmets, but you'll need to bring adequate footwear for the hike.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Bletterbach canyon is very impressive. I deeply recommend getting a guide. Otherwise rocks will just be rocks. With the guide the canyon and rocks receive a vivid history. Coming back there is a nice "Alm" (restaurant). I recommend getting a "Strauben" (sweet pastry).
