Cresciuto nel settore giovanile della SPAL, con la quale ha esordito in massima serie nella stagione 1963-1964, ha speso la sua carriera tra Roma, Juventus e Milan, vincendo quattro campionati (tre con la Juventus e uno con il Milan) e due Coppe Italia (una con la Roma e una con il Milan). Tra il 1972 e il 1976 ha collezionato 32 presenze in Nazionale maggiore realizzando 8 gol, compreso quello decisivo che ha permesso all'Italia di vincere per la prima volta in casa dell'Inghilterra a Wembley nel 1973.
Conclusa la carriera da calciatore, ha intrapreso quella da allenatore affermandosi come uno dei migliori tecnici della sua generazione. Nel suo palmarès può vantare la conquista di cinque campionati italiani (quattro con il Milan e uno con la Roma) e due spagnoli (entrambi con il Real Madrid), quattro Supercoppe italiane (tre con il Milan e una con la Roma) nonché una UEFA Champions League, vinta nella stagione 1993-1994 con il Milan, e una Supercoppa UEFA, vinta nel 1994 con il Milan. Dal 2007 al 2012 è stato il commissario tecnico nell'Inghilterra, che ha guidato al campionato mondiale 2010, dove è stato eliminato dalla Germania agli ottavi di finale, e dal 2012 al 2015 è stato il selezionatore della Russia, che ha condotto durante il campionato mondiale 2014, non andando oltre il terzo posto nel girone eliminatorio.
Fabio Capello (San Canzian d'Isonzo, June 18, 1946) is a former football coach and former Italian footballer, a midfielder.
He grew up in the youth sector of the SPAL, with which he made his debut in the top flight of the 1963-1964 season, spent his career between Rome, Juventus and Milan, winning four championships (three with Juventus and one with Milan) and two Cups Italy (one with Roma and one with Milan). Between 1972 and 1976 he made 32 appearances in the senior national team, scoring 8 goals, including the decisive one that allowed Italy to win for the first time in England at Wembley in 1973.
Having completed his career as a footballer, he started as a coach, establishing himself as one of the best technicians of his generation. In his palmarès he can boast the conquest of five Italian championships (four with Milan and one with Roma) and two Spanish (both with Real Madrid), four Italian Super Cups (three with Milan and one with Roma) as well as a UEFA Champions League, won in the 1993-1994 season with Milan, and a UEFA Super Cup, won in 1994 with Milan. From 2007 to 2012 he was the technical commissioner in England, who drove to the 2010 world championship, where he was eliminated from Germany in the round of 16, and from 2012 to 2015 he was the selector of Russia, who led during the championship world championship 2014, not going beyond third place in the preliminary round.
