Trulli Italian School - Scuola di lingua italiana

Two weeks ago I was a real beginner in Italian and now I can have a pretty decent conversation in this beautiful language! Our teacher Angelica made learning so much fun with role play and games! Andrea and Paolo took us all around the most spectacular sights of Puglia and let us taste local wines, various olive oils and of course all the flavours of gelato! We stayed in the Trulli del bosco, probably the best kept secret in the area, a tranquil sanctuary where home grown fruit and veggies were served for breakfast. Andrea's nonna taught us how to make the Puglian pasta orechiette. Not only did we learn the language, we learned the Puglian way of life and made lovely new friends along the way! It was a true immersion in la dolce vita di Puglia! An experience I will cherish always!

We loved our time at this school! Andrea, the director, and all the teachers were amazing! Two weeks of language immersion along with incredible day trips made this experience fantastic! Everyone is caring and kind, and the instruction is perfect no matter what level you are. We felt welcomed and cared for like family. AND we learned so much ? I did the summer camp Italian course for teenagers and I had an incredible time. I had probably the most memorable 2 weeks of my life there and made some life-long friends. Andrea and Paola were absolutely perfect in terms of giving us enough freedom all the while keeping everything under control. They created an extremely comfortable and accepting environment and made sure to include everyone. Everyday we had activities which were always extremely fun and well organised. It exceeded my expectations by a mile and I couldn’t have asked for more.

My husband, Richard (Ricardo) and I attended the two week immersion course In September. We couldn’t have asked for a better learning experience! Our teacher, Angelica, was patient with us and made the learning interactive and fun. Half days in class with afternoon cultural activities was the perfect combination! Our hosts, Andrea and Paola, went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. We truly feel we have made friends with our.fellow classmates and hosts! We highly recommend Trulli Italian School!!

My teenage daughter attended Trulli Italian School and had the most amazing time. Language instruction was interspersed with trips to the seaside, bike rides, pasta making, scavenger hunts, and just time hanging out with new friends from other countries. I loved the international mix of students, as well as the relaxed and playful atmosphere that still encouraged learning. Andrea the director was very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions or concerns. A life-expanding, educational, and friendly experience all around!

My husband and I just completed our 2-week immersion course for "over 50" and it was simply a fantastic experience! Andrea has created a unique and highly effective language program and does a superb job organizing the many facets, from the teaching to the activities to the accommodations ( we elected to stay in the apartment which he arranged for us and it was terrific). As for the school and teaching, it's first rate. We were impressed by how well thought out and prepared our classes were. We had the pleasure of studying with 2 different teachers from the school (one on-line and the other during our immersion) - each very different and both highly trained teaching professionals. The school's overall approach combines grammar and vocabulary with plenty of listening and speaking exercises and a variety of interactive learning techniques. For example, on one day, our teachers took us to the market and had designed a really fun game where we had to talk to several vendors and make actual purchases. Both my husband and I were astonished by how much we have learned in such a short period of time! As part of the immersion philosophy, Andrea has put together a wonderful selection of activities for the afternoons, all designed to encourage students to practice speaking and listening while also getting a sense of the beautiful culture in this part of Puglia. Plus it was a lot of fun to be part of a group of fellow students from several different countries. Made the experience even richer. Highlights? Hmmm - all of it! However the cooking class with Nonna and Paola was maybe my favorite thing outside of the classroom. In short, we loved it and highly recommend the Trulli Italian School.

This was my 8th trip to Italy, and without a doubt this was the best ever. The school, the structure of the courses, the administration and planning of every detail, the lodging accommodations, the magical town of Alberobello itself, the incredible adventures every day after the classroom session (adding cultural learning to your language learning), and the family bonds that you form with the students, instructors, staff and of course Andrea. Would I recommend this to everyone, including beginning to advanced speakers of Italian-absolutely. Would I recommend this to everyone, including first time visitors to Italy and veteran visitors-absolutely. Am I returning to the Trulli School-absolutely.

I just returned from my 15h trip to Italy and because of my experience attending Trulli Language Immersion School, it was my very favorite. Andrea, the Director, organized a fascinating travel itinerary over two weeks to Puglia's enchanting cities and coastal towns. In addition, the immersion experience with excellent teachers like Ellena and Andrea, provided many opportunities to use the Italian language in various settings, thereby improving my verbal fluency significantly. The hotel accommodations were excellent and I met so many wonderful people from different countries who quickly became friends! I would rate Trulli as the Best School for Italian immersion studies and believe it would be beneficial for anyone regardless of what level of the language you speak or desire to speak.
