After a splendid morning immersed in the history of Venosa, we concluded our walk in an equally pleasant gastronomic journey, between traditional dishes and the courtesy of the owners. Good relationship between quantity, quality and affordable prices for families.

Lucanian trattoria offering excellent local cuisine. The inn's appetizer selection is very good and varied. Followed by cavatelli with courgette cream and pressed pasta with fava bean purée, chicory and cruschi peppers. Aglianico of the house and homemade liqueurs (limoncello and amaro al bacio). Kindness and professionalism.

Consigliato!
The place is small and intimate, very welcoming. The menu has a selected choice: a few things but all good and valid. We had the cod straight on fava bean puree and crusco pepper (lightly fried and yummy), cod ravioli with fresh tomato and crusco pepper (fantastic) and grilled vegetables. All excellent, with portions that satisfy. Seeing the neighbors who had ordered other types of pasta such as orecchiette, the portions were very generous! The choice of desserts is also good: from nutella crepes, through babà (also stuffed with cream and nutella) to cheesecake or tiramisu. For all tastes! We chose the tiramisu. Honest. Friendly and approachable staff. We were advised that we would have to wait a little longer for the cod due to the longer preparation. In the meantime, they offered us "pancozze con rucola", bread fritters, mussels and rocket, very good. With a final coffee, we spent 30 € in total. Recommended!

Waited an unusually long time to be seated until they announced that lots of customers would coming soon and couldn’t fit us in, even though the restaurant was *empty*. Every table was open. Felt like a joke. I don’t normally critique a place without trying the food, but the remarkably rude communication and the absolute ridiculousness of a refusal to seat a party when every table is available, warrants this exception. Even if every seat were already taken, nothing excuses the extremely rude manner in which this was communicated.

During our stay in Venosa, we had dinner at Trattoria Locanda Oraziana twice. On the first evening we arrived late in Venosa, but Anastasia and her family welcomed us with a smile and prepared a great menu. The food was very tasty, the plates arranged with love and the service extremely friendly. We felt so welcome that we booked another table with the whole family two days later. Thank you for a dining experience with local products & dishes and even more for our great conversations. We will definitely come back and recommend you to others!

Nice and cosy restaurant in the beautiful town of Venosa where the Roman poet Orazio was born. Typical food, tasty and genuine made with the products of this place. Very good price but I suggest to book in advance as it's small inside. Definitely worth to come back
