We had a late stop around noon in "La Posta" with the family on a hot summer's day in august 2015, near closing time. Our recent visit at the Terme di Saturnia gave us a not-so-nice sulfurous odor but nonetheless, we were served very politely. The fresh ravioli with sage-butter were delicious. The royal portions at la Posta were slightly oversized but high-quality. The local Morrelino (di Scansano) was a delight!

A michelin star retaurrant rated in 2018 and many years prior. Google maps did not have this place listed as in italy there is an issue. Restarants trattorias and osterias are not grouped together and in my opinion they should be.Well trust me if you are within 1 hour drive (but call first they have had closed days other than just monday) of this restaurant its a must place to dine. The homeade pasta with wild boar sauce is a must and the best i ever had anywhere. Wine water 1st 2nd course with a salad it would be hard to spend over 30 euro. For a restaurant of this quality its a bargain. If you just had a pasta dish and wine and salad you would be about 15 euro. Again for a michelin rated restaurant this of course probably does not exist anywhere so its a heck of a find. Tell them Giorgio the americano sent you. Oh and by the way in one of the photos you will see Caesar a local truffle hunter stopped and sold his truffles to the restaurant. Wow look at his find. By the way these are pictures of half porrions of wild boar sauce with papperdelle pasta and agnello/lamb roasted. And let me tell you i am not a huge fan of rosemary and they use it as a hint in the background and its not overpowering in the lamb dish.

My fiance and I spent two weeks traveling both southern and northern Italy. Hands down the best dining experience of the trip. The chingale pasta was amazing and the owner even emptied our water bottle at the end of our meal to fill with house wine. From the family who's grandpa proudly showing us his grandson s two years of english experience to our impromptu to go Vino, this place is the best Italy has to offer.

The food was good but totally not international friendly. We don't speak Italian and the guy was pretty rude with us. We will be spending few more days in the area but definitely not going back there.

NOT tourist friendly We went to La Posta and as soon the waiter picked up, that we couldn't speak Italian his attitude toward us changed, as he couldn't speak English. The entire night we had a really long waiting time to order, to get our food, our drinks and even the check. He ignored us, when we tried to get a hold of him and all the tabels around us got served before us the entire evening. And cherry on top, the food wasn't good.

We travelled from Rome to Bologna, Modena to Venice, and ate our way through it all. However this little family owned restaurant in a tiny town of 100, won us over. Everything from the house wine (Sangiovese) to seasonal veggies, pasta, desserts and meat, are prepared with over 120 years of experience. How many restaurants have survived since 1900? It takes great food, great service, and consistent perfection to achieve the legendary reputation. While they speak little English, they have an English menu and enough options to please even the vegetarians. The best part of eating organic, seasonal food made by an Italian grandma, is the price, so reasonable you’d be hard pressed to not many of the gems on the menu. Danilo la posta, owner and server, is hilarious and greets everyone, even foreigners, with a lot of love. Locals love and recommend this place and perhaps May prefer this restaurant remains a local secret.

I can't reccomend this restaurant, although the primi was good, the main course (both stew) was really dry and hard. The olives in one dish tasted liked alcohol. We sent the beef back to the kitchen (nearly untouched) and the response of the service was not really helpful. Next time, choose a different restaurant.
