 Fantastic experience; excellent cuisine, homemade, generous portions, exceptional quality meat, fabulous plins. Keep in mind that there is a large cellar (from which you have to personally take the bottle that suits you best).

I ate the best hazelnut cake I've ever eaten, accompanied by a spectacular eggnog made on the spot with Barolo by the great chef Claudio. Something unique. Professional and kind staff. I felt like I was at home.
Good wine cellar.
Beautiful landscape.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positives: super nice people, gorgeous view and very reasonable prices. Minus: the focus seems to be more on quantity than quality. ENORMOUS portions- both the carne cruda and pasta were enough for 3 people. They were super nice to offer take away containers but I would prefer much smaller portions and higher quality. Takeaway is really the only option- I love to eat but there's no way I could eat this much and I truly hate throwing away food. The meal was certainly not bad but not sigh-inducing as I was hoping for in a local countryside restaurant. I'm sure there are much better options nearby. Sorry to the nice waitress and the nice chef- you were very kind but the meal was not at all what I was hoping for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little bit messy, but a very authentic and down-home trattoria where you meet almost only local people. The homemade pasta with butter and sage is incredible delicious. Well grilled Italian sausages. The best giardiniera I've ever had. The food is excellent value for money.
The owner is very loud, but friendly and funny.
If you want to eat simple delicious food for a reasonable price and want to enjoy dolce vita, then you should go to Madonna di Como :)
