The octopus casserole was amazing. And definitely the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted.

Meats were absolutely horrendous. Tiny slices of overcooked meat, dreadful. Gnocchi was all sticky and doughy, definitely had better gnocchi at Tesco. Overall, only eat here if you’re about to die of starvation or play a horrible prank on your friends. Best thing about this place was the water.

Okay meal, but better places in Napoli.

Nice economical place with great tasting food near Piazza Garibaldi. Their white house wine is fantastic. The two ladies are quite busy and did try to help me place my order and choose a dish since the menu was in Italian and I know only English. One spaghetti with Balognese and full glass of house wine came to just 7 Eu. Most restaurants have a tourist menu and a locals' menu. Remember to ask about the local dishes if you are a tourist.

I never write bad reviews because I typically have good experiences. I was going to go to Da Donato just down the street but I’d had my fill of tourists for the day and didn’t want to sit with a bunch of people trying to re-live Eat, Pray, Love...so I saw “Avellinese” and decided to stop in...since my grandparents are from Avellino. Well, when I told that to the sour old man he didn’t even seem to care and just pegged me as a stupid tourist. The food is all sitting out (which sometimes is typical and acceptable—not something Americans are used to but it’s common in Italy) but it was uncovered, and sitting out when it was nearly 100 degrees. The menu didn’t have a single thing on it that was a typical Neapolitan dish much less anything from avellino with a couple of exceptions. The beer mug was filthy with dark specks (not beer sediment) in the bottom. I wondered why I was the only one there but it started to fill up after I sat down. When I ordered, the guy kept saying “spaghetti bolognese? Spaghetti bolognese?” Which I took as his way of insinuating that he assumed I’d eat any garbage he put in front of me...this isn’t bologna and the bolognese use tagliatelle, not spaghetti. Now, I know in Naples it’s possible to find this, but the ragù is different. So he suggested spaghetti with mushrooms. Everyone including the table full of Milanese tourist girls guzzling the awful wine were served before me, as well as the table next to me whose order was messed up multiple times. Finally my gross trough of WAY too much spaghetti with canned sauce and CANNED MUSHROOMS was tossed on the table at the same time as my chicken cutlet with dark brown old grease dripping off of it. One bite of the spaghetti and I asked for the check. I was willing to pay even though I didn’t eat, but then he said I could t pay with a card...which is total nonsense—it’s a tourist trap right near the train station and he is just tying to avoid paying the tax, which is common here and I’m happy to help with if you’re not trying to swindle me in the process. He tries giving me complicated directions to a bank, but I just left. Don’t bother. As the locals at the table next to me said, “next time, go to Da Donato”

Authentic italian restuarant close to the station. There is only Italaian menu and Italian speaking staff. That makes it really cute. There is no cheating or high service fee. Really correct service with good prices. Portions are small you need to order more plates.

The food here is really good for what you are paying. Even though the waiters barely speak English and the menu is only available in Italian we ordered and got our food pretty quick. The drinks here are really cheap! You pay 1€ for a 0,33 liter Pepsi and only 3€ for a 0,66 liter bottle Peroni beer. Pizza and pasta, which is really good here, only costs around 4-5€. I really recommend this place, especially for it's prices and good pasta. An Edit after visiting this place two more times. My 4 Star rating remains for it's good prices and great pasta. But one rather small error occurred the last time we visited. After we already received our drinks, two cola's, we where ready to order our food. I ordered my pasta and the Peperoni for 2,50€. Instead I got an mug with with 0,4 liter of PERONI beer. Not the worst thing that could happen. What bothered me more was that later on we got charged for two 0,66 liter beer (6€).
