F	Francesco Catalini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La base della torre è ciò che rimane della antica torre gentilizia della famiglia Celeri che si trasferì poi nel “castello nuovo”, a ridosso della via che porta il proprio nome, e di cui ora non rimane alcuna traccia. Sono evidenti in facciata i rimaneggiamenti e i sopralzi che l’hanno portata ad essere inglobata nella costruzione della Chiesa di San Giorgio, che si trova ad un piano più alto e arretrato rispetto al lago, di cui costituisce l’abside. Attraverso la sagrestia e le stanze collegate ad essa è possibile scendere attraverso la struttura e sbucare a fianco della torre, in cima alla ripida scala in arenaria che fiancheggia il lato destro della stessa. Il passaggio è tuttavia chiuso al pubblico e non praticabile. Spicca dal tessuto urbano per la sua mole ed altezza; viene utilizzata come punto focale delle originali installazioni luminose, coinvolgendo tutto l’anfiteatro della piazza del Porto e i principali palazzi di Lovere, che vengono riproposte con cadenza regolare in occasione di varie ricorrenze e festività. È stata oggetto in anni recenti di un importante intervento di restauro e consolidamento grazie al quale è stata anche dotata di un impianto di illuminazione che la rende visibile da grande distanza e dalla sponda opposta del lago. The base of the tower is what remains of the ancient noble tower of the Celeri family who later moved to the "new castle", close to the street that bears its name, and of which now no trace remains. The alterations and elevations that led it to be incorporated into the construction of the Church of San Giorgio are evident on the façade, which is located on a higher floor and set back from the lake, of which it forms the apse. Through the sacristy and the rooms connected to it it is possible to go down through the structure and come out next to the tower, at the top of the steep sandstone staircase that flanks the right side of the same. However, the passage is closed to the public and not practicable. It stands out from the urban fabric for its size and height; it is used as the focal point of the original light installations, involving the entire amphitheater in Piazza del Porto and the main buildings of Lovere, which are repeated on a regular basis on the occasion of various anniversaries and holidays. In recent years it has undergone an important restoration and consolidation intervention thanks to which it has also been equipped with a lighting system that makes it visible from a great distance and from the opposite shore of the lake.
