A	Antonio D'ostuni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Torre del Sasso è un imponente rudere, parzialmente crollato, che si erge isolato in una posizione mozzafiato, nella Serra del Mito, su di un alta roccia da cui prende il nome, infatti viene anche chiamata Torre del Mito. È citata in alcuni atti di fine XVI secolo dove sono annotati i compensi per i servizi a torrieri e cavallari. La stessa, inoltre, è presente in alcuni documenti e in tutta la cartografia antica sempre con il nome “Torre del Sasso” (De Salve). “L’Università di Tricase, il 4 maggio 1584 nomina due procuratori per riscuotere presso il Percettore quanto da essa già pagato, per primi quattro mesi dell’anno, al caporale ed ai soci della torre Sasso sita nel territorio dell’Abbazia de lo Mito.” (Giovanni Cosi 1989) Attualmente di proprietà demaniale, c’è stato negli ultimi anni un fortissimo interesse da parte di alcuni cittadini che si sono attivati per la salvaguardia di questo patrimonio, tuttora in grave rischio di crollo. Access is confusingly sign posted via orange signs 'Sentiero Torre del Sasso e Vallonee'.
