Il desiderio di Pirandello era quello di essere cremato e restituito alla natura spargendo le sue ceneri o seppellendole vicino casa sua (le ceneri sono, infatti, conservate al di sotto del grande masso). Secondo suo volere, il luogo doveva rimandare alla semplicità che lo ha sempre contraddistinto (lontana da celebrazioni) e ai "suoi luoghi", sempre protagonisti della sua attività letteraria. The place is far from the center, in the countryside, quiet, as the second will of the great writer. Pirandello's desire was to be cremated and returned to nature by spreading his ashes or burying them near his home (the ashes are, in fact, preserved below the large boulder). According to his will, the place had to refer to the simplicity that has always distinguished him (far from celebrations) and to "his places", always protagonists of his literary activity.
