Indicazioni pessime in biglietteria e sul sito...
If you have an electronic ticket, check-in with the app and DO NOT queue at the ticket office, go directly to boarding !!!
Bad indications at the ticket office and on the website ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Se si prenota il ticket online risulta tutto più semplice e veloce, in alta stagione è un caos ed inoltre non è sempre intuitivo specialmente per chi non si aggiorna prima. Quando non c'è traffico si riesce a gestire meglio il tutto.
If you book the ticket online everything is simpler and faster, in high season it is a chaos and also it is not always intuitive especially for those who do not update first. When there is no traffic you can manage everything better.

You just have to pick the right path and figure out where to get out. The cost is 39.00 by car. To be divided if you are 5 people or if you are less lucky and you are alone you pay in full.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Met een geldig boeking nr. 24 uur geldig. Neem je met de vrachtwagen de 2 rechtse banen. Dan wordt je kenteken herkent en komt de ticket van zelf. Volk wat daar loopt snapt er niks van als je boeking niet klopt.
Valid for 24 hours with a valid booking no. Take the 2 right lanes with the truck. Then your license plate is recognized and the ticket comes automatically. People who walk there will not understand if your booking is incorrect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non sono stato fortunato. Un mio errore in fase di prenotazione con la loro app in questo terminal non è stato possibile risolverlo perché il personale non è preparato e non ha i mezzi necessari. Ho dovuto chiedere un rimborso alla Caronte e rifare i biglietti perdendo quasi un ora.
I was not lucky. A mistake I made when booking with their app in this terminal could not be solved because the staff is not prepared and does not have the necessary means. I had to ask Charon for a refund and redo the tickets, losing almost an hour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a terrifying experience, actually. It should be a simple thing one might think, but for non Italian speakers, the symbols and names are non-intuitive. And even though there are people waving, it’s not clear what they want and you end up in a weird lane. At the ticket machine, even when switching to English language, the menu has Italian parts which can’t be understood. Luckily there was a person to assist. Leaving the place ended in quite a traffic chaos, as Italian traffic doesn’t understand how to merge lanes peacefully.
We tried to avoid the whole ticket-queuing thing, but failed to purchase tickets online, being non-Italians.

You can purchase tickets online or right from your car – drive in style - in the port (“buy ticket lane”). There is no time slot. You just buy a ticket and go whenever you feel like it or if there is space on the ferry.
Take the exit for the port on the highway and just follow the signs.
If you buy online make sure you create an account, since you need a qr code for check in. If you purchase without creating an account, you will only get a bar code and you have to get the qr ticket from one of the machines. Still line up at the “buy ticket lane” in the port to do that!
Otherwise, you have to walk back by foot, which is not recommended if there are many cars since you have to walk by and in between those to get to the ticket machines.
(If you purchased without an account, then created an account because you needed the qr code, you are sent a mail and are asked if you want to link the purchase to your account - then it should work out without walking/driving to the machines).
