Il castello risale al 1300, ma erano presenti solo le mura esterne e le 4 torri. Nel corso del 1600 sono state costruite le stanze interne, che danno su di un cortile rettangolare. Attualmente é una residenza privata non visitabile. a small village which, without being special, has remained as it was a century ago. The castle dates back to 1300, but only the external walls and the 4 towers were present. During the 1600s the internal rooms were built, which overlook a rectangular courtyard. It is currently a private residence that cannot be visited.

M	Mari Ube on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questo scenografico maniero è visibile in tutta la sua imponente architettura stando sulla sponda destra del Trebbia, in località Rivergaro. Incuriositi, si può raggiungerlo oltrepassando, più avanti, il ponte sul fiume e parcheggiando l'auto a bordo strada (non vi sono parcheggi). Il cartello dà le prime indicazioni sul Castello di Statto, che è anche zona di belvedere perché domina, dalla sua altezza, la valle del Trebbia e il Parco Fluviale. Sorto probabilmente su un'antica stazione di posta romana lungo la "strata" che collegava Piacenza a Genova, conobbe vari proprietari (gli Anguissola, i Caracciolo, i Visconti, gli Sforza, gli Scotti...). Apparteneva al sistema difensivo del territorio, insieme ad altri castelli del Ducato (Rivalta, sempre sulla sponda sinistra, Montechiaro e Rivergaro su quella opposta). La sua storia inizia nel 1296 e dopo 600 anni, divenuto Collegio Alberoni delle "figlie della Carità", fu acquistato dal conte Orazio Anguissola Scotti che avviò lavori di restauro e lo adibì a propria dimora per la stagione estiva. La struttura è quadrilatera con quattro torri angolari cilindriche che, in origine, erano dotate di merli alla ghibellina, come le mura. Quelli visibili attualmente sono seicenteschi e di abbellimento. Il castello è privato e NON visitabile. Lo si può apprezzare esternamente, per quanto possibile. È cinto da muraglia e da cancellate, oltre le quali si indovina un parco con rigogliosa vegetazione. Nulla rimane di un oratorio che si trovava all'interno delle mura mentre alcuni casolari di servizio sono situati esternamente, nei pressi dell'antico fortilizio. Il contesto è incantevole: da un lato strapiomba sul fiume, dall'altro è coronato da dolci colline. A poca distanza e in posizione declive si trova la Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate, preceduta da un pittoresco viale alberato in salita. This spectacular manor is visible in all its imposing architecture standing on the right bank of the Trebbia, in the locality of Rivergaro. Intrigued, it can be reached by crossing the bridge over the river further ahead and parking the car on the side of the road (there are no parking lots). The sign gives the first indications of the Castle of Statto, which is also a belvedere area because it dominates, from its height, the Trebbia valley and the Fluvial Park. Probably built on an ancient Roman post office along the "strata" that connected Piacenza to Genoa, it met various owners (the Anguissolas, the Caracciolos, the Visconti, the Sforza, the Scotti ...). It belonged to the defensive system of the territory, together with other castles of the Duchy (Rivalta, always on the left bank, Montechiaro and Rivergaro on the opposite one). Its history begins in 1296 and after 600 years, having become the Alberoni College of the "daughters of Charity", it was purchased by Count Orazio Anguissola Scotti who began restoration work and used it as his home for the summer season. The structure is quadrilateral with four cylindrical corner towers which, originally, were equipped with Ghibelline battlements, like the walls. Those visible today are of the seventeenth century and of embellishment. The castle is private and CANNOT be visited. It can be appreciated externally, as far as possible. It is surrounded by walls and gates, beyond which you can guess a park with luxuriant vegetation. Nothing remains of an oratory that was inside the walls while some service cottages are located externally, near the ancient fortress. The context is enchanting: on one side it overhangs the river, on the other it is crowned by gentle hills. A short distance away and in a sloping position is the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate, preceded by a picturesque tree-lined uphill road.
