I am referring only to the commercial type mushroom product which is really poor Inside the package there are dried mushrooms of unidentified type and origin, together with pieces of wood, stones etc. In addition to that they are full of earth, release a brown liquid and are absolutely tasteless.

Ho dovuto sciacquarli e poi metterci sopra del buon extra vergine di oliva e così erano perfetti. Porcini mushrooms are felt to be of quality but have been totally ruined by the excessive amount of vinegar that covers all the flavor. I had to rinse them and then put some good extra virgin olive oil on them and they were perfect.
