Esternamente presenta l'abside, non più accessibile, di una chiesa più antica, contenente affreschi in stile bizantino. The chapel, built in 1462 in the small village of Mennano, retains part of the wall of a house on which the effigy of the Madonna and Child was painted, to which the miracle of having protected the inhabitants from armed Albanian looters is attributed. Externally it presents the apse, no longer accessible, of an older church, containing Byzantine-style frescoes.

B	Bellezze Nascoste Versteckte Schönheiten on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Venendo da Monteparano si prosegue in Via Santa Maria di Camera per circa 1 km sino a raggiungere il piccolo santuario meta di numerosi pellegrinaggi sia da Roccaforzata e Monteparano che da altri centri della provincia di Taranto. Intorno al Santuario Madonna della Camera si narra una leggenda. Durante l'invasione ottomana nel XVI secolo (probabilmente nel 1594), i pochi abitanti di Roccaforzata e Monteparano, si rifugiarono terrorizzati nel santuario, l'unico luogo sicuro; gli ottomani sfondarono la porta della chiesa, ma furono accecati da una luce fortissima irradiata dagli occhi della Madonna affrescata sull'altare. Probabilmente in seguito a questo intervento miracoloso della Madonna, ebbe inizio la vita del santuario. La Madonna, secondo la tipologia iconografica dell’Odighitria, indica con la mano destra il Bambino posto alla sua sinistra. Gesù reca nella mano sinistra il globo mentre con la destra benedice. Attualmente l’affresco, frutto di numerose ridipinture e rimaneggiamenti, è stato ritagliato e incorniciato. La allora Cappella di Santa Maria della Camera, situata presso i ruderi del casale Mennano (tra Roccaforzata e Monteparano, Taranto) è datata 1462 ed è costruita secondo l'architettura bizantina, cioè secondo i punti cardinali est-ovest, con l'altare ad est e l'ingesso a ovest. La chiesa era poi in comunicazione con l'antica cappella del XIII secolo dove dimorarono per secoli i calogeri. Della cappella, oggi, si vede solo l'abside. Quando erano presenti gli albanesi di rito bizantino, durante la quinta festa dopo Pasqua (Pentecoste), questi convenivano dai vicini casali tarantini, per festeggiare la solennità della Madonna. Ogni primo sabato del mese alle ore 9.30 viene celebrata la Santa Messa. I festeggiamenti della Madonna si tengono il primo giovedì dopo Pasqua con processione, luminarie e fuochi d'artificio. The then Chapel of Santa Maria della Camera, located near the ruins of the Mennano farmhouse (between Roccaforzata and Monteparano, Taranto) is dated 1462 and is built according to the Byzantine architecture, i.e. according to the east-west cardinal points, with the east and the entrance to the west. The church was then in communication with the ancient 13th century chapel where the Calogeri lived for centuries. Of the chapel, today, only the apse can be seen. When the Albanians of the Byzantine rite were present, during the fifth feast after Easter (Pentecost), they gathered from the nearby Tarantine hamlets, to celebrate the solemnity of the Madonna. Holy Mass is celebrated every first Saturday of the month at 9.30. The celebrations of the Madonna are held on the first Thursday after Easter with a procession, lights and fireworks.
