Infatti, malgrado i 770 anni dalla sua morte e malgrado un processo di canonizzazione iniziato subito dopo, questa santa non è stata ancora riconosciuta tale dalla chiesa cattolica. Eppure ... Ovunque a Viterbo si respira l'aria di Santa Rosa, ma la prova più tangibile si ha durante la festa e la processione con la cosiddetta "Macchina", un colossale monumento reso mobile da 100 "Facchini" che, sulle loro spalle, portano un peso di 50 quintali, quasi insostenibile, lungo le strette strade della città. Diventare un Facchino di Santa Rosa è divenuto quasi un titolo onorifico per i Viterbesi. Da visitare, soprattutto il 4 Settembre. Sicuramente vale la visita al Santuario dove si può ammirare l'urna della Santa, Monastero e Casa. Se siete in gruppo si può richiedere visita guidata sempre gratuita. Non ci sono ingresso da pagare, contributo facoltativo e punto shop per portare a casa un ricordo . Open to the public for only 5 years, now run by only 5 nuns and volunteers devoted to the Saint. Definitely worth a visit to the Sanctuary where you can admire the urn of the Saint, Monastery and House. If you are in a group, you can request a free guided tour. There is no admission to pay, optional contribution and shop point to take home a souvenir.

Piccolo e raccolto si fa fatica a pensare che qui sia il fulcro delle celebrazioni della piccola grande santa le cui spoglie sono conservate all'interno di una teca con azoto e a temperatura controllata. Bellissimo il chiostro con le rose e la visita delle cappelle e dei luoghi sacri in essa custoditi. A breve distanza anche la casa museo. The most suggestive thing visited in Viterbo. Nella chiesa, completamente riedificata dopo i bombardamenti del 1944, si trova la pregevole pala "Madonna in trono col Bambino tra Santa Rosa e Santa Caterina D'Alessandria" del XIV secolo. Per il percorso all'interno del santuario e la visita del chiostro non è richiesto alcun pagamento. Ci hanno affidati ad una guida gratuita e mooolto leggera, chiara e simpatica, che a loro detta è spesso lì a disposizione. Siamo capitati li per caso, ma lo Consigliamo! April 25, 2 Adults. No queues to enter or to visit. Beautiful and evocative. No payment is required for the tour inside the sanctuary and the visit to the cloister. They entrusted us to a free and very light, clear and nice guide, which according to them is often available there. We happened upon them by chance, but we recommend it!

Oltre al Corpo della Santa, che è un Mistero della Fede e della Scienza, è molto interessante la visita al Monastero (ex Clarisse), con arredi originali del Seicento e Settecento ed affreschi pregevoli nella sala dell'ex refettorio; Se si ha la fortuna di trovare una delle guide (preparatissimi VOLONTARI, ringrazio il Sig. Maurizio), si può fare una full immersion nella Vita della Santa e nel folklore Viterbese della Macchina di Santa Rosa: una particolare processione (anche se è improprio chiamarla così) che si svolge il 4 Settembre, dove una struttura artistica di circa 30 metri e del peso di oltre 5 tonnellate che cambia ciclicamente ed è sempre bellissima, viene condotta per la Città da 100 fieri fedeli forzuti.
