Chi la visita senza sapere, resterà sorpreso del fatto di trovare due spazi su due piani utilizzabili entrambi per le funzioni religiose della nostra chiesa cattolica.
Non è stato sempre così.
La chiesa sorgeva al centro di un fiorente quartiere ebreo perfettamente integrato con la vita del paese e con.tutti gli altri abitanti.
Quando cominciarono le persecuzioni contro gli ebrei, per.evitare dannose conseguenze ai loro concittadini, la parte inferiore della chiesa venne attrezzata a sinagoga.
Tutti entravano come.cristiani per.gli occhi della gente e poi.....
Naturalmente si concordavano gli orari.
