U	Ughetto Vincent on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il luogo, che si incontra lungo la statale 12 a sud di Rovereto, è segnalato come la gran "ruina" di cui parla Dante Alighieri nella Divina Commedia (Inferno XII, 4-9): "Qual è quella ruina che nel fianco di qua da Trento l'Adice percosse, o per tremoto o per sostegno manco, che da cima del monte, onde si mosse, al piano è sì la roccia discoscesa, ch'alcuna via darebbe a chi sù fosse..." In realtà la zona è molto più estesa: si tratta dei "Lavini di Marco", un'area di oltre 35 ettari in cui si ammassano le rocce che, staccatesi dal monte Zugna e precipitate a valle, hanno deviato il corso del fiume Adige già in epoca preistorica. Recenti studi sulle frane trentine, compiuti con le tecniche della datazione radiometrica, segnalano che una frana che colpì Calliano (situato tra Trento e Rovereto) corrisponde ad un terremoto che interesso' la val d'Adige nel 1117 , epoca molto vicina a quella in cui visse Dante. E molto più vicina a Trento. A questo punto sarebbe necessaria una macchina del tempo per chiarire questo dilemma e la disputa tra i comuni di Marco e quello di Calliano. Sicuramente la frana di Marco è molto più indicata per esprime quell'ambiente infernale che il Sommo Poeta voleva creare. D	De Toffol Franco on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un'occasione per vedere la Ruina Dantesca dal suo interno e, nel contempo, di fare una bella e facile escursione in montagna è quella di percorrere la strada forestale Tagliafuoco di Sotto. Si tratta di una comoda carrabile, chiusa al traffico, che si diparte sulla destra dalla strada degli artiglieri in prossimità di un piccolo parcheggio in corrispondenza della lapide della MO Guido Pelizzari (400 m prima della grotta Damiano Chiesa), che taglia le pendici del monte Zugna con un leggero saliscendi più o meno a quota 500 m .e che in poco meno di 5 km porta a monte dell'abitato di Serravalle. Interessante il paesaggio che varia in modo inaspettato tra pinete, bosco ceduo e, soprattutto attraversando nel cuore la Ruina. Molto aperto il paesaggio con vista sulla valle dell'Adige, il gruppo del Monte Baldo, lo Stivo e la valle che, attraverso Mori e Loppio, porta al Lago di Garda.
