I was told by a local that it is the best place to watch the sunset over the city but unfortunately the groundskeeper told everyone we had to leave just after 6pm, so we didn't get to see it. It was still a lovely spot

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The entrance is halfway up the steps to Piazzale Michelangelo and provides a useful place to rest before continuing the climb. Being December, the roses were not in evidence but there is an area with great views over the rooftops of Florence. I know that there is much more to see in the gardens and my brief visit really could not do it justice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice garden, not my favorite that we visited. Especially in August, many of the roses are dead. The maze is a bit confusing to follow, but otherwise it was nice! Again, a very nice view of the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would say but this place is more about the panoramic view of the city rather than about the roses. You can see meters long piece of old city wall from them together with towers, I swell as some beautiful houses and all the old buildings. The main Florence cathedral is also visible from there, but it isn’t the best spot to look at it. I would recommend to climb up the hill a bit more to see it more clearly. There are many benches in the roses garden but mainly occupied due to it’s popularity
