Stile neogotico
Il santuario di Rivotorto è situato a Rivotorto, alle pendici del monte Subasio, poco lontano da Santa Maria degli Angeli. All'interno del santuario è stato ricostruito il Tugurio, ovvero il luogo dove Francesco D'Assisi e i suoi primi compagni si stabilirono per pregare, meditare, lavorare agli albori della Fraternità Francescana. Il momento è ricordato con un'incisione in pietra all'ingresso, HIC PRIMORDIA FRATRUM MINORUM (qui gli inizi dei frati minori). Il santuario protegge i resti ristrutturati di due piccole costruzioni in pietra, senza alcun ornamento, dentro le quali secondo la tradizione si rifugiavano a pregare Francesco e i compagni.
Insieme ad altri siti francescani di Assisi, è diventato patrimonio dell'umanità nel 2000

Sanctuary of Rivotorto
Neo-Gothic style
The sanctuary of Rivotorto is located in Rivotorto, on the slopes of Mount Subasio, not far from Santa Maria degli Angeli. Inside the sanctuary the Hovel was rebuilt, that is the place where Francesco D'Assisi and his first companions settled to pray, meditate, work at the dawn of the Franciscan Fraternity. The moment is remembered with a stone engraving at the entrance, HIC PRIMORDIA FRATRUM MINORUM (here the beginnings of the friars minor). The sanctuary protects the restored remains of two small stone buildings, without any ornament, inside which, according to tradition, Francis and his companions took refuge to pray.
Together with other Franciscan sites in Assisi, it became a World Heritage Site in 2000
