Maybe late Sunday evening is not the best time to find this place at its best. Firstly, Our waiter barely made eye contact or spoke which made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Ok we only spoke English but so did he. Our 5 dishes arrived far apart meaning some of us were nearly finished when others meals arrived. The beef is on the bone and there was much fat meaning only about 30% was edible. The carbonara had no sauce other than that sticking to the pasta and the pizza bases were black on the bottom showing them to be over cooked. Very disappointing given the rave reviews for this place. Maybe just caught it on a bad day. We did not complain at the time as I’m sure it would have just been brushed off.

Very friendly staff and great food. Family place. I had the linguini and with mussels, shrimp, and octopus and it was amazing. Fair prices too. I recommend trying the tiramisu, although the profiteroles looked great too!

A really awesome and authentic Italian restaurant. We were looking for a restaurant near Piazza Bologna and just wandered to this place. The pizza was absolutely delicious, the service was top-notch. They also offer fantastic sea-food (clams, shrimps, squids, lobster etc). All in all, the best restaurant we visited in Rome. Very nice prices, it's not your usual tourist trap but rather reminds you of a classic Italian place that one can see in movies - a bit outdated but still authentic interior, just like the cool Italian gentlemen who work there as chefs and waiters. Would recommend this place for everyone who wish to enjoy Italian food and great atmosphere that goes with it.

My very first Italian pizza. Real thin crust. Margherita and Pizza Bianca were my favorites. And can't forget the coughing pizza guy, hope he's still alive and well -and flipping pizza dough!

Getting Away From the Tourist Places! When in Rome, if a waiter hands you a menu in English....RUN!! That place caters to tourists, NOT great food. If, however, you want a real taste bud delight that doesn't even come close to breaking the bank.... hop off that tour bus and go to "La Stiva" now!!! Take the blue subway line east to the Bologna Station and walk south 2 blocks along a beautiful tree lined Avenue. It will be, very unimposing, on your right. Their English is rough, my Italian worse, but the best service we received while in Rome! Don't waste your time with pizza... go straight for the "Linguine alla Scogliera" at only €13... well, just look at the photos! And don't forget a half bottle of their own bottled wine...A Truly Wonderful Restaurant and Experience...a place that portrays the true Italy and Italian dining experience.....
