Ristorante Il Faraone

We returned by mistake to this restaurant and unfortunately nothing has changed from the previous time: apart from the abundant starter based on artichokes (cold and anonymous), the tagliata ordered second arrived (after a reminder and an hour of waiting) excessively cooked, almost toasted. Water and wine for a total of € 65.00. I don't recommend it.

The food is good, the restaurant is clean, even if the offer is not particularly characterized by the typical characteristics of the area. Breathtaking view of the Pontine Plain. The room is managed like a bad place without any attention to respect the rules of serving at the table. Maybe this is the right note that characterizes it.

I wanted to give this very popular restaurant in the area the last chance, but nothing to do! I don't understand why people return there, despite looking around the plates always return to the kitchen full. On 3 different visits, and different first visits, the dishes were hyper salty and inedible. The spices used are not appropriate for the dishes (cloves in the meat sauce only serve to distract, rosemary in the artichokes, chilli pepper in the potatoes ...) denote an unpreparedness in the kitchen at less than amateur levels. Grilled is no better! Meat usually stinks from the bone (it has also happened elsewhere, please!) But cooking is never correct. Furthermore, the dishes arrive late and NOT together. The result is that in the end everyone eats alone and the times get longer! Appetizers nothing exceptional, cold cuts cut too thick and not even clean (the rancid part of the raw ham not eliminated, the skin of the sausages not clean ...). On the other hand, the cellar and wines kept at the right temperature are good. Perhaps the reds kept in the dining room are a little warm. The service is pleasant, but amateur! It does not seem at all that they have years of experience in catering: 4 requests for a bottle of water, because those who served us seemed to be busy ... only to discover that they had to chat with the diners at the next table. In the end, after 30 minutes, we took the water from the counter, tracking down the first one who passed!

Delightful lunch, very abundant and sublime home appetizer ... many artichoke dishes, being seasonally, fresh and cooked to perfection ... especially the Carciofi carbonara! To finish in beauty grilled meat cooked to dot and tender, I would stay there again! Family and welcoming environment with seen on the plain and with a little luck even the splendid islands!

Quality courtesy and infinite goodness, I highly recommend to try ... an experience of taste flavors and an absolute pleasure for the palate ...

It wasn't just a dinner. It was a real experience. A crazy combination of excellent food (mixed artichoke appetizer really taaaanta robba: D !!!), excellent wine, and an immediate empathy / sympathy with the manager, great Gianni !, who we did not know before (we were in the area on vacation), but that we immediately felt we had always known. The food is homemade and exquisite, cooked by the mother with a lot of love (you can hear it), so if you are in Sezze and its surroundings, having a meal here must be considered an obligation :) We went back before leaving.
