Overpriced and food was really poor. Really soggy wet pizza! If you’re from abroad, this is the place NOT to go.

Arenzano is a popular destination for Genovans (Genovese?) getting away from the built up and sometime claustrophobic Genoa itself. It is also well known for it's seafood restaurants. The drive out from Genoa is easy, especially if you use the Autostrada. However like all car journeys in Italy it rather feels as though you are competing in the Monza Grand Prix and in with a definite change of coming in among the top three. Any having got there safely we went to Ginos. It's on the seafront and there is plenty of free parking in the area. Gino's itself was warm and welcoming and we went as a family including two Jack Russell terriers (yes allowed in the restaurant, no problems). We had a mixture of seafood starter and seafood and risotto and pizza main courses with the house white and followed of course by the inevitable and almost chewable Macchiato coffee. The food was good and service was prompt and friendly, so highly recommended.

Typical wonderful Italian cusine with friendly and fast service. Nice outside eating area. Prices are a bit higher than I have paid at other establishments, but it's worth every Euro Cent!

Early evening during the week, wandering through Arenzano: two adults with a 3- and 10-year old trying to find an early dinner as everyone was tired after a day on the bike and beach. The large outdoor seating was lovely and the restaurant was about to open. When we approached a non-reserved table, one of the staff hurried towards us, shooing us away - not a warm welcome indeed. It turned out, apparently they wanted to arrange this table for a larger group. We were assigned another one; interestingly it couldn't have been further away from the one we had picked, in a corner, away from the boardwalk. It started dawning on me that we might not be the type of clientele they wanted (no comparison as they weren't open yet); be it the shorts or the kids, probably both. Still, if cordiality is too much to ask, courtesy and professionalism surely isn't? Or was the intention to make us feel too ashamed or uncomfortable to ever come back? We were given a menu without one for drinks, when I asked for an aperitivo (my Italian is marginal, but I tried...), the waiter shrugged to ask which one? A recommendation, selection or menu I did not get from him. The water we had ordered was put on the table and not poured, maybe because our glasses remained bottom up and weren't set up, just as the fifth cover remained on the table the whole time we sat there. I asked for a glass of wine, again no menu or the like. To order additional drinks it took us a while to get any waiter's attention, no one ever came during our meal to ask if we needed anything. At 6:30 PM, mind you - the restaurant was barely half full by the time. Interestingly, the only other family with small kids got seated right next to us... Ours btw were completely well behaved ( at least this time, thank god). I will say that the pizza was pretty good and the selection of seafood interesting. But I believe that a professional service is the least I can expect for an 80 EUR dinner as a family, even if enthusiasm and cordiality might in this place be reserved for a group I obviously didn't belong to. Just on principle (if they go low we go high and so on) we even left a tip.. And dear owner, I am telling you preemptively: the only reason I wrote this google review (my first) is because the arrogant, dismissive and contemptuous way you answered to any critical voices here is in my opinion positive proof that something is amiss. So, please: no need for a counterstrike. An apology or at least admitting to a misunderstanding or a regret that something apparently did not go as both of us would have wished - that would be professional and dignified, in my opinion. Thank you.

If you order simple things they treat customers like rubbish. If you oder expensive stuff they treat you great, it's all about the money. Food is discussting, Autogrill food is better. This is the famous Italian tomato salad Old tomatoes soft, no taste nothing

Despite the crowded terrace (there was not a single free table) at lunch time we were warmly welcomed at our table and kindly advised. The prices were decent and the food was good and well served. Definitely will go again if have the chance!
