Nice location and cosy place. However hosts are really unfriendly and coffee was really bad for average italy. Quite expensive as well. Quality-price relation is bad.

Charming mountain refuge accessible by car in a gorgeous setting on the highest point of Passo Valparola. The views and the sunrise are extraordinary. The rooms are dorm style that sleep 4-6 if my memory is correct. I had a dorm room all to myself during a few days of early january. The decor is that of an alpine hut with a lot of wood and very charming. The food is very good consists of tirolean dishes. The dining room is very pleasant to sit after a long tiring day skiing to enjoy the fine food and make new friends. The staff are a family that are very friendly, welcoming and give good service. The price was very affordable and was well worth it to sleep in such a wonderful environnment. Can't wait to go back!

Amazing food and friendly hosts. We stayed here with half pension and had very generous portions. I would recommend staying here as a stop on the way to lagazuoi/the tunnels (see picture). The rooms are very comfortable for a mountain rifugio.

I was up here for sunrise and the view is out of this world! The lady that runs the place is really lovely. You can also stay the night. They have a selection of their own grappas which are really good. I only had coffee, cake and grappa but there is a restaurant that looks really good and well looked after. I will definitely return for food. Really worth stopping at on the way over the pass!

We stayed here while doing the Alta Via 1 hike as we couldn’t find space in Lagazuoi and this was the closest to it. Decent place, but on the main road, so not a true mountain hut. Breakfast was average and we didn’t try the dinner.

I would give this place a negative star rating if it were possible! I don't expect much in the way of comfort or facilities when it comes to mountain huts. What I do expect is humanity and decency, and mountain folks are usually lovely people. But this place was a shocking exception! We came hiking through hours of incessant rain, and were soaked to our bones and shivering. We were only met with rude gestures on arrival from the old lady who was in charge, a big contrast with the guy at the nearby Scotoni hut who seemed really concerned for us stuck in the terrible rain. We were rushed to dinner immediately before giving us a chance to even warm up. We noticed they had a laundry room and we asked if we could dry our clothes as everything in our bags was drenched too despite all the rain covers. And we were refused! We had to insist several times before the lady finally changed her mind. The next morning, it only got worse as the preferential treatment to us couldn't be more obvious. We arrived at breakfast and there was no one serving us any bread, or cheese, or any coffee; there were folks at other tables who arrived after us and got served immediately. We had to ask for every single thing that was served automatically to the other guests. The rude treatment continued through checkout and frankly we were just relieved that this nightmare was over. For anyone who cares, the food and accommodation were bang average and the coffee was the worst we had in all of Italy. The only saving grace was the waitress who served us for dinner, she was as helpful as she could be given that her boss seemed to have an agenda against us. I am not one to throw around allegations of racism lightly but it's hard to imagine that all the apathy, the discourtesy, and the reluctant service, was about something other than the fact we are a pair of non-white skinned foreigners.
