Rifugio Graffer

I love this place especially in winter when we tour ski to the refuge and take a brake before descending again. A great and economical place for snowboarders, and skiers who are looking for a skihut on the most beautiful slopes of the Brenta Dolomites. They do half board !

We stayed here during summer season for 1 night. A very unwelcome experience, especially compared to all the nice other places available. The bartender (the older son of the owner we expect) screams at clients, has an aggressive attitude and is doing his utmost to make you feel unwelcome. He has the same approach towards his colleagues, so that makes it less personal.. The younger son is very kind, and does his best to make your stay comfortable. Unfortunately, he was hardly around. The rooms are small but clean. The shower (EUR 3 for 5minutes) is basic, just like the toilet. It seems the place is made to act like a money machine.. We had to pay an additional EUR 3 for a towel too.. If service and environment are well organised, this is not a problem. Now, we felt being ripped off.. The breakfast is basic: small advice, don't ask the waiter for anything which isn't there: he will scream at you again and again "NO NO NO NO" (as our fellow travellers experienced). Finally, the coffee is an absolute insult to any Italian based bar or restaurant.. Don't even try.. Rifugio Boch or Stoppany are better alternatives in the same location. Especially Stoppany has great views (instead of the lifts you merely see at Graffer)

"Greeted by Dogs, Treated like Dogs" During our hiking trip in the Dolomiti di Brenta group we "slept" for 1 night in this riffugio. When we arrived we were greeted by 4 big Bernese Mountain dogs, a very welcoming sight. However things turned quickly and unfortunately the owners of the hut mistook us for the dogs (at least that is what we think). We got a very small room with no windows to the outside, only a window to the hallway. This little window (see picture) didn't even had curtains so we had to put our own clothes to darken the room because the lights in the hallway were on all night. Since the room was so small we had to open the window during the night in order not to sufficate. This resulted in hearing everbody go to the toilet at night. We asked for a different room but none were available, yet we booked very early. The owners don't seem to care about the quality of their guest stay as long as they can overpopulate their riffugio and make money it is fine for them. Defenetly quantiy over quality, otherwise they shouldn't dare to create such a room. Also their food is very disappointing. At the main dish was served with only 6 potato slices. The breakfast was okay. Other reviews state that this is a great place for quick snacks during skiing I can very much imagine that. During summer the owners of the hut don't do any effort to transform it from a winter fastfood restaurant in to a cozy riffugio. Besides the dogs and the outside of the hut the only other good thing we experienced was leaving early the next morning never to return again.

We are a travelgroup with about 8 different nationalities. We all agreed the food was horrible. Ashy fries, schnitzel was a piece of wood. Dont get us started on the slimy mushrooms... and that for over 20 euros and unfriendly staff. WE ARE NOT MAD JUST DISAPPOINTED. (Beer was good though)
