Awful and arrogant customer service. No wonder their General Manager has just left them - these guys do not know how to run a hotel. I had tried to book 20 rooms for a night in June 2022 (a year ahead). The GM was very friendly and polite and we agreed on a price for the night. He then put his colleague Marta in charge of drawing up a contract. I waited over a month for the contract and then when I received it, I was given only a week to sign and send the 30% deposit. As I was on holiday, I missed the deadline by a couple of days, at which point she said that the deal was dead and used some irrelevant excuses to renege from the deal, before then ignoring my e-mails entirely. Breathtakingly awful way of treating customers, especially given the size of my group and the indirect revenue it would have brought them. So instead, we are going to the Castello di Casole where the service could not have been more different! A brilliant GM who agreed a contract within days and arranged a wonderful evening for us. Take your business there instead. Your loss Reschio!

We were so excited about our trip to Reschio. We had been following the Instagram for some time and felt like we found a magical, secret hidden gem. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed. The issues we had can be resolved over time, and have nothing to do with the property or hotel itself, which is stunning. Our issues (and the two or three groups we made friends with) were about the service and the food, which became a running joke amongst a few groups of us. The hotel is beautiful, with immaculate taste and design. Every detail has been thought through - it feels like a very elevated soho house. The rooms are nice, the decor and furniture is tasteful and elegant, and the pool and property are stunning (and very picturesque). The Roman Bath was also the most amazing spa I’ve ever been to - you get to swim in the castle’s watch tower! Definitely worth reserving. And while we were blown away by the picturesque beauty of it all, we felt like the service and food made this a 3.5-4 star experience. It is not what you’d expect from a $1000++/night hotel. And it was laughable comparable to the other hotels on our trip: St Regis Rome, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, and Hotel Il Pellicano (all were A+++ properties by the way). While the other 5 star properties have proactive and anticipatory service, with very friendly staff who make you feel like a friend or royalty, it’s as if the staff at Reschio is taught to be hidden, and servant like, in their ridiculous 1800s garbs. No one would ask you about water or drinks when you laid down at the pool, and no polite hellos or hello β€œMr/Mrs X” when anywhere on the property. The manager, who was always running around on his laptop, never once said hello and until a super A List celebrity showed up, didn’t see him interact or be polite to any of the guests. Very odd. We had an issue with our air conditioning, where our tower suite room got so hot the first two nights we could hardly sleep. Tossing and turning all night, it must have been 80f/26c in the room. After the second night, I complained and 6hrs later they sent maintenance who said the AC had broken, but was fixed. Again, I had to call to find out - no proactive service. What did they do to remedy not being able to sleep for 2 of 3 nights? They comped a couple pool-side drinks. Onto the food. The breakfast is wonderful, as is the breakfast staff. The lunch and dinners leave a lot to be desired for. The dinner menu is limited at best, with a handful of pastas and out-of-season dishes. Carrot soup in August? It’s as if the chefs are trying to cook something that is modern-Italian, but completely misses the mark. The panzanella salad was a plate of ground up wet, unseasoned bread with unseasoned cherry tomatoes placed on top. The worst dish I had in Italy. The tasting menu restaurant was quite good, with a beautiful view, but again, an odd menu. Reschio needs to learn to provide a luxurious experience that isn’t just for Instagram, but makes you FEEL like you’re in luxury when you stay there as well. Hopefully they figure out their service and food issues, otherwise I would avoid for now.

Excellent location and the property is amazing. That said the service is something from not even a 1 star hotel. We stayed for the weekend they didn't made our room until 8 PM even if we had planned with the hotel massages and other activities. Then after lunch I reminded them to do it later in the afternoon because I would have napped and they woke me up for it. There is a lot of miscommunication between the people. Another accident was when we arrived the lady that was doing the initial hotel tour mentioned that the pool would have been open until 8PM so at 6.30 we decided to go and it was closed. I mean the location is good but if I have to stress out for the service that was really bad and those are just a few of the issues. I will not go back again they need to figure out the service otherwise those prices are not worth it at all.

Castello di Reschio Instagram page is basically hell. The photos and the content controls and manipulates the minds of its users They deleted my previous post with more detailed information about what happened during my stay. These attitudes demonstrate the 1 star quality of the hotel that it is. and the people who run it

The Castle is grand and picturesque and incredibly editorial in photos, but has the facilities and infrastructure of a modern city hotel – rain showers that feel like you are weathering a monsoon and exquisite ventilation and heating systems. Perhaps most surprising was that, against all laws of the known universe, including the physical constraints of solid stone walls and a fairly remote physical location, my Wi-Fi signal never faltered, and my ping averaged about 50 ms around the estate. Staff was always on hand to respond to our requests, but never so close that we felt our privacy was intruded upon. Before our arrival, we worried that the food might be overly fussy and the portions would be small. And to be sure, the dishes do come out of the kitchen looking like an awful lot of intention has gone into their presentation. But the flavors are there too and the portions get the job done. And the complimentary breakfasts…Gott in Himmel. Our favorite dishes in the evenings were: La Gaillina Fa Dehi Poached Egg, potatoes, and malt And Affumicato Spaghetti, smoked butter, turnip green and baby squid The former dish was served as a delicious and thick potato soup with added richness from the egg yolk. The spaghetti doubled down on the richness, with the greens (which actually varied during our stay from broccoli rabe to leek) providing texture, and in the case of the rabe, bitterness to balance the richness. The breakfast buffet was ample. Hot items were available upon request from a small selection that managed to cover all the bases. The fried eggs with sausage and mushrooms and the French toast were our particular favorites. The French toast was very thin and crusty – possibly the best I’ve ever had. Bad or even unexceptional food would have been a deal breaker for us, and it is probably the area in which we are the hardest to please. The food at Reschio ended up being a selling point. We stayed in one of the standard rooms – the least expensive category they offer. It was enormous and incredibly charming with a slanted roof and exposed beams. Two smallish windows provided picturesque views towards Tuscany and ample breezes. A large peaked skylight at one end of the room brought in light and emphasized the high ceilings and architectural details. The doors to the rooms are extremely solid, and once in our room, we had complete privacy. Our bathroom also had a very large window which was charming and made our showers appealingly breezy. The common areas of the castle really are just as beautiful as you see in the pictures. There’s a truly admirable confidence at work in all of the spaces. There were only as many notes as were needed – no more and no less. And there are so many points of interest on the grounds of the estates – including the various out-buildings and recreational facilities, an amazing diversity of views, the morning mists, and the incredible heated pool. Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of our stay was the warmth of the staff. They told us to treat Reschio as if it were our home, and in our experience, they meant it. I’d like to give special thanks to Andre, Rooms Manager at Reschio, for making our stay so relaxing and inviting and luxurious. This vacation was a particular splurge for us, but we consider it money *extremely* well spent given the fineness of the accommodations and service and the incredible facilities that come with the room. The spa facilities included an extremely large Hammam, a steam room and sauna, and two misting rain showers. Currently, due to Covid, these facilities must be reserved meaning that you have them all to yourself. Even without this luxury, they would be impressive. But with the added privacy, they really are an unmatched indulgence, and one that is included with your stay.

We couldn't have asked for more. Great staff, great property and the details are out of this world. We have been travelling to many properties all over the world, however at Castello di Reschio it is like coming home. Cant wait for next summer and another great experience.

This is a unique property with unbelievable grounds and once in a life time opportunity to stay in the 10th century castle. Incredible decore of the hotel and rooms, unbelievable grounds with magnificent pool, tennis court and hiking and biking routs. Its a gem that you should not miss. Hotel just opened in the summer and I believe that staff still has to figure out how to provide the service to match the grounds of the property. But with the leadership of Andre, room manager and Florian, managing director, this goal will be easily achieved. Thank you again for upgrading us to a beautiful suit and for making our stay special.

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon here in August 2021 - and even now 4 months later, I have such warm fond memories of our stay. The hotel is spectacular. There is no other word for it, it's such a special place because of the attention to detail that has gone into it. We started with the olive oil tasting tour with Francesco who later looked after us so well both at dinner and breakfast! We dined at both restaurants having such magical evenings and sitting down and chatting to Luca who plyed us with home made Limoncello and a friendship that still makes us smile today! We spent soothing mornings in the spa and I had one of the best massages of my life! We got to know the staff from Christan who made breakfasts so awesome to Anna and Sylvestro who made sure our evening meal was extra special (we were the first there and the last to leave!) For context, my wife and I are just regular people who come from London and Reschio can be a little intimidating at first. The cliental are definitely well to do and i'm sure there were some celebs about! My advice is to immerse yourself in the grounds, get the know the lovely staff and just have fun! Our last night drinking at the bar with Luca was one of my favourite memories as was sitting in the gardens sipping Gin and Tonics under a full moon. We stayed in in August 2021 in the Suite San Michele. The room was again incredibly well decorated, had a fantastic G&T bar with ginger and lime laid out with the most fantastic bath. I really can't stress enough just how amazing Reschio was. We stayed an extra night and moved our flight to spend more time here. Big Thanks to the staff for making the stay so much fun and Martel for all the great cocktails!
