★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Port of Salerno is a great place to start your ferry trip to the Amlafi coast. The hour long drive there from Salerno is scenic amid the sweeping turns aroj d mountain bends and jaw dropping beautiful. Ives along the way. The ferry from the port of Salerno is for those like me who are short on time. The tickets are available at the dock and a superb Ristretto sets the pace for the 30 to 45 minute cruise to Amalfi. The pretty-as-a-penny coves that come into view along the way are worth keeping your zoom lenses ready. The 40 odd minutes are pretty much in straight line once you get out of the dock at Salerno. The seas are calm most of the time and the ferries are comfortable. If you are on the upper deck then it does get a bit windy.
