Traveling mid-April, we couldn't find a place to stay near Florence where we could park our car. We Googled and happened upon the Agriturismo, Poderaccio, in the quaint town of Incisa. Without a reservation, we took a chance that they would have room for us -- what an amazing location and experience!!!" We stayed in the romantic English Oak Apartment with fireplace and plenty of wood. The crackling of the fire lulled us to sleep. The apartment is complete with full kitchen, a stunning open-concept shower, and separate oversized whirlpool tub in its own private room. We had our own large private patio and lounge chairs to take in the incredible views. Francesca and Francesco were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We will definitely return to Poderaccio! Getting to Florence, the Incisa train station located about 7 minutes from Poderaccio has free parking. The express train to Florence took under 45 minutes dropping us conveniently in the middle town. We took an evening trip back and enjoyed dinner in Incisa at Osteria de' Medici (not open on Sunday's!) the meal was outstanding. I couldn't read the menu, so Lorenzo just asked me what I wanted and they made it from scratch. We were there for hours and made to feel part of the family.

Loved our stay. We stayed for 7 days and it was peacful and the accommodations were amazing. The couple that owns the property is hospitable and very knowledgeable about Italy. Definitely stay here if you get the chance.

Though only half an hour from Florence, staying at Poderaccio was like being in another world. Surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Valdarno, olive trees and country roads, Poderaccio is a farm and agriturismo run by the enthusiastic Francesca Bellacci. Though she speaks English quite well, Francesca is Tuscan through and through, and her love of Poderaccio is quite evident in the care she has taken in cultivating the land and restoring the farmhouse buildings. Her farm is totally organic and produces wonderful fruits, vegetables, olive oil, honey, and other delicious products. The rooms of the agriturismo are spacious, comfortable, energy-efficient, and authentically furnished. The room my wife and I stayed in last month had a fully-furnished kitchen (all of the rooms do, in fact), so we could prepare our own meals when we were tired of eating out. Close to Florence, Chianti Country, Siena, Arezzo, and countless other wonderful towns, Poderaccio was an ideal base to explore from. Francesca was always ready to help us in every way, and had many suggestions for hikes and sightseeing. My wife and I have traveled a lot in Italy and have sometimes fallen into the routine of seeing only the cultural sites while retiring in the evening to an anonymous hotel room. Poderaccio offers a fuller, more authentic experience. In its intimate setting, you can get to know the other guests staying there and witness an Italian farm in action while still leaving time to see the many sites. Many thanks to Francesca and Francesco; we can hardly wait to come back!

Poderaccio is a beautiful organic (bio) farm located outside of Florence and near Incisa. I had the opportunity to stay there for a weekend during a reunion of American and Italian friends. It is nestled in the hills of Tuscany and sits on one of the hillsides. From the property, there are panoramic views of the Tuscan rolling green hills, olive groves, fields of various colored blooming flowers, tiny villages--everything you think of when you think of Tuscany. Francesca is a gracious host. Guests can arrive by car or by train. We took a train from Florence to Incisa where Francesca picked us up and drove us to Poderaccio. We each had an apartment. We were welcome to go out into the vegetable farm and pick anything we wanted to use for our meals. Her products are organic (bio). The farm has areas outside for relaxing and where guests can eat their meals, drink some vino and meet other guests. While we were there, we met an Israeli family and also a Canadian family. They had cars and had visited Chianti, Siena and Florence. There are also smaller villages to visit that are not so full of tourists if you really want to see the "old country." Francesca can arrange hikes. We went on two: one that was led by a knowledgeable guide that went to very old land formations called Le Balze. This was a wonderfully scenic view of the Balze, where we walked through vine yards, fave bean groves, meadows of blooming flowers, a forested area-just total beauty. During the hike we stopped for a "light" meal at a beautiful locale and then finished our hike with a grappa and wine tasting. This hike was really a highlight. The second hike went from the farm into the nearby area where we visited an artist's studio that is located in an old little church. Francesca can also organize cooking or bread making classes or other types of workshops. She built a totally green house on the property that just opened while we were there. It has areas for group workshops. We had a healing arts session where the practitioners used Tibetan bowls, gongs and even their voices to give us a relaxing and amazing experience. They call it sound massage. Apparently, this area is full of people who work in the healing arts. It was so relaxing at Poderaccio, I wish I could go back soon. I had a wonderful time getting out into the country and experiencing what Francesca and Poderaccio have to offer. I would gladly stay here again. Ciao'. A presto. Buon Viaggio.

Very peaceful area with beautiful scenery! The owners are very nice and helpful. The rooms have fireplaces and our bed was firm but not too hard. We had our own kitchen and were able to get to Florence within 40 minutes. While staying here we saw a deer, porcupine, badger, and several boars driving back at night!

The most unforgettable Italy vacation highlight! We booked this place well in advance, and Francesca replied to every message/question within minutes. She picked us up and dropped us off at the train station every day (2 pickups and 2 drop-offs), and that exceeded our best expectations. The farmhouse was spotless-clean and very romantic (year 1780!). The breakfast basket was authentic, local, and very tasty. The nature around us and a walk uphill was unforgettable. We bought 4 local wines from Francesca, and they were superb, and she even gave us a piece of her sheep cheese and her own focaccia bread to try. Absolutely best spot to relax, soak in, and enjoy.

What a great Tuscan experience. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were in a special place in the beautiful countryside. the accommodation is beautifully rustic and perfectly comfortable, we even had a private terrace to use. Francesca is an excellent host, she explains everything to you and wants you to have an amazing time. Sustainability is important at Poderaccio Farm, and we learnt so much and really appreciated the fresh fruit, veg and organic products available from the farm, some freshly picked from the huge vegetable garden. From cooking on site, to having tea or coffee on the deck or helping out on the farm, we never wanted to leave.

Francesca is a wonderful host and we enjoyed our stay here so much. It was truly relaxing and tranquil. If I stay again I would ask that the bed be repaired properly as slats fell out every night and woke us up! Though a small easy fix for an almost perfect stay. I’d highly recommend the hot tub experience - it was better than anything I could have imagined.
