Monastero per le donne più povere, ospita dal 2016 le opere della Pinacoteca Diocesana, capolavori della pittura e scultura devozionale proveniente dalle chiese cittadine. The church was refounded in the seventeenth century by the Accounts Acquaviva when on the church of San Bartolomeo, thanks to the consent of the abbess of San Benedetto, the convent of the Clarisse of Santa Chiara was consecrated. A monastery for the poorest women, it hosts since 2016 the works of the Diocesan Art Gallery, masterpieces of painting and devotional sculpture from the city's churches.

Opere particolarmente pregiate sono le tele di Paolo Finoglio (famose le sue opere nella pinacoteca del castello) e di suoi seguaci, e altri autori con opere che vanno dal 1500 a fine 1700. L'edificio della chiesa in origine di proprietà dei conti Acquaviva D'Aragona venne affidato alle clarisse nel 1557 e successivamente arricchito di opere d'arte e ampliato a loro spese. Con le leggi sabaude di soppressione degli ordini religiosi fu definitivamente abbandonato dalle monache nel 1901. Church reopened in 2016 after a closure of about thirty years, restored with some rooms of the adjoining convent of the Poor Clares and used as an art gallery to host important paintings and some sculptures from the Churches of Conversano. Particularly valuable works are the paintings by Paolo Finoglio (famous his works in the castle's picture gallery) and his followers, and other authors with works dating from the 1500s to the end of 1700. The church building originally owned by the counts Acquaviva D Aragona was entrusted to the Poor Clares in 1557 and subsequently enriched with works of art and expanded at their own expense. With the Sabaudian laws of suppression of religious orders it was definitively abandoned by the nuns in 1901.
