Maria Vecchia, Gussago. In essa si trovano le tre lastre dette del Maviorano di epoca longobarda, conosciute e studiate prima in Germania che in Italia, ecco una descrizione dello storico dell'arte Pier Virgilio Begni Redona: Vi ribadisce che detto ambone è l'adattamento del sarcofago di un personaggio longobardo, raffigurato nel cavaliere che sta entrando nell'eternità.
Pieve di Gussago (also known as the Church of the Dead by the inhabitants of the place, since the dead of the Manzoni plague were buried there). Located in Piè del Dosso, via S. Maria Vecchia, Gussago. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Pieve, anche chiamata "Pieve Vecchia" dai gussaghesi, fu istituita nel secolo VIII come testimonia l'unico reperto sopravvissuto dell'antico edificio ecclesiale: il pulpito di Mayorans (o Mavioranus) che un tempo faceva parte di un sarcofago di forme barbariche, forse longobarde, e che ora è utilizzato come ambone nella pieve di Santa Maria a Pie del Dosso. La presenza dei Longobardi è attestata anche da una tomba scoperta in località Sale al cui interno è stato trovato un frammento di scudo e una catenella

The Pieve, also called "Pieve Vecchia" by the Gussago people, was established in the eighth century as evidenced by the only surviving find of the ancient ecclesial building: the pulpit of Mayorans (or Mavioranus) which was once part of a sarcophagus of barbarian form, perhaps Lombard, and which is now used as an ambo in the parish church of Santa Maria a Pie del Dosso. The presence of the Lombards is also attested by a tomb discovered in the locality of Sale inside which a fragment of a shield and a chain was found.
