Pretty and characteristic little church in the middle of the green hills of Chianti. The caretaker still lights the candles as they once did and you can hear a rare organ operated by a manual bellows play, as it has been for centuries

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La più antica pieve di Radda in Chianti e forse di tutto il Chianti, risale all'anno Mille. Restaurata nel corso dei secoli, dell'antico stile romanico mantiene intatta la facciata. All'interno un organo a mantice che ancora oggi fa risuonare le note solenni nei matrimoni che vi si celebrano. Località suggestiva e autentica.
The oldest parish church of Radda in Chianti and perhaps of the whole Chianti, dates back to the year 1000. Restored over the centuries, it preserves the façade of the ancient Romanesque style. Inside there is a bell-shaped organ that still today makes the solemn notes resound in the weddings celebrated there. Suggestive and authentic location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un posto nascosto, ma non per questo non è una meraviglia!! Molto curato anche l'esterno e la chiesa sembra, da fuori, molto ben tenuta. Spero di tornare con un po' di sole. Comunque vale la pena di inoltrarsi in una strada che sembra portare nel nulla!!! ?
A hidden place, but that doesn't make it a wonder !! The exterior is also very nice and the church looks very well kept from the outside. Hope to come back with some sunshine. However, it is worthwhile to take a road that seems to lead nowhere !!! ?

Delightful, uncared for place. The church was closed and unfortunately I could not find any indication of the opening. The village I have heard will become a luxury resort. Already bought by the French.
