Incuria, sporcizia, il prato completamente secco. Un benvenuto orribile per chi si appresta a visitare la Reggia. Come è possibile, eppure basterebbe un intervento settimanale di giardinaggio e installare degli irrigatori. How can the space in front of one of the most important architectural monuments in the world be kept in such a pitiful state? Whose responsibility is it? Carelessness, dirt, the lawn completely dry. A horrible welcome for those who are preparing to visit the Palace. How is it possible, yet a weekly gardening intervention and installing sprinklers would be enough.

Grazie alle sue imponenti dimensioni (130.000 m²), è ritenuta essere la più estesa in Italia e fra le più grandi piazze del mondo, sebbene sia dibattuto se possa essere considerata o meno una piazza propriamente detta. La piazza, di forma ellittica, fu disegnata da Luigi Vanvitelli a metà del XVIII secolo nell'ambito del progetto per la reggia di Caserta. Rappresenta il vertice da cui partono le cinque strade più importanti della città. Ai lati della piazza vi sono due emicicli presso cui erano ospitate le scuderie e i militari a difesa del palazzo reale. All'inizio del XXI secolo, la piazza, prima intersecata da strade aperte alla circolazione veicolare, è stata sottoposta ad un lungo restauro e riqualificazione, allo scopo di farla tornare al progetto originale del Vanvitelli. C'è stata una risistemazione dell'immensa area verde, dell'impianto di illuminazione e la piantumazione di molti arbusti e alberi, mentre la piazza è stata completamente pedonalizzata. Al di sotto della piazza è stato realizzato un parcheggio sotterraneo, che serve anche la vicina stazione ferroviaria e può ospitare fino a 900 autovetture. Alla fine del 2009, con una solenne cerimonia, la piazza è stata inaugurata nella sua nuova veste che la rende più fruibile. A Luglio del 2020 è stata rinominata Carlo di Borbone. Si tratta dello stesso nobile ma nella veste di Re di Napoli e non di Re di Spagna (col nome Carlo III) che ha segnato la sua partenza per la Spagna lasciando il figlio Ferdinando a Caserta. Piazza Carlo di Borbone, formerly known as Piazza Reale, and until 2020 Piazza Carlo III is a large square located in Caserta and is dedicated to Charles the King of Naples, who had the Royal Palace of Caserta built. Ho visto soltanto la struttura principale e manca il giardino vero e proprio, quello che ci sta dietro. Appena possibile mi attrezzo della reflex 35mm per fotografare diverse cose. Qui tutto da smartphone non mi intriga molto. I could not turn carefully because I was passing by. Undoubtedly, a few hours are not enough to observe everything. I only saw the main structure and the actual garden, the one behind it, is missing. As soon as possible I use the 35mm SLR to photograph various things. Here everything from smartphones does not intrigue me very much.
