M	Mauro Troise on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La piana del Dragone, situato nel territorio di Voltuara Irpina, è un bacino molto ampio che accoglie sabbia, limi, ghiaia, depositi alluvionali, materiale refluo dia torrenti montani, mentre l’acqua defluisce nella bocca del Dragone, inghiottitoio naturale su zona cataclastica originata da una faglia. Qui si ferma la descrizione idrogeologica del fenomeno e comincia quella popolare che dà voce alla leggenda del drago. Si vuole, infatti, assegnare a tale “bocca”, la dimora di un feroce drago cui la comunità locale doveva tributare sangue umano; l’animale feroce, infatti, fu ivi rinchiuso dai barbari al fine di custodire un ricco tesoro. A liberare il popolo, un principe, la cui storia è avvolta nel mistero, Gesio, che pose fine alla soggezione del paese, uccidendo con la valente sua spada: il drago, con le sue tre teste fu inghiottito dalla terra attraverso tre voragini. Noi di viaggio in Irpinia abbiamo subito il fascino non solo della leggenda ma, soprattutto, delle vette e delle acque, le sorgenti che dal Terminio, sgorgano numerose dal versante del monte Sant’Angelo, acqua della Serra, acqua Nuci, acqua Mieroli, Tufara, acqua di zà Maria a valle, acqua dei Calandroni, acqua delle Logge, acqua degli Uccelli a monte. L’abbondanza delle acque dà ragione della fertilità dei suoli e di una intensiva floricoltura che nei comuni di Montella e Volturara Irpina, si declina nei colori e nell’eleganza superba dei fusti dei gladioli, iridacee di origine africana, il cui periodo di fioritura si protrae fino settembre, mentre la raccolta dei bulbi per la semina dell’anno successivo, si fa in ottobre. Occasione unica tra rocce ed acqua quella che quest’angolo di Irpinia dà. Da non perdere una passeggiate naturalistiche lungo il “percorso vita e avifaunistico” che dalla Bocca del Dragone arriva sino al lago e la visita al Museo Etnografico situato a Volturara Irpina, testimonianza delle antiche tradizioni rurali del borgo, il museo “racconta” la storia e le tradizioni del popolo della piana del Dragone. LA PIANA ha anche una storia che risale ai tempi di Mussolini. Si avete capito bene e infatti e stato proprio Mussolini a creare e realizzare la prima condotta di acqua per i paesi del Napoletano. Infatti e proprio qua che nasce una Sorgente di acqua potabile del territorio dopo quello di Serino . Tanto e vero che l'acqua che sgorga qua alimenta il territorio di Caposele e paesi dintorni. Oltre a questa enorme distesa di terreno e quindi una PIANA esiste anche una BOCCA DEL DRAGONE . Dove si narra che le acque della zona SORGIVA VENIVANO INCALANATE IN QUESTA BOCCA e a sua volta servivano i terrororio del Serinese e Napoletano. Ci sono vari racconti di su questa bocca ma lascio a voi venire in questa piana dove potrete trovare UNA ARIA BELLISSIMA UN TERRITORIO INCONTAMINATO E SPECIALITA DI CARNE GENUINA E PAESANA . CONSIGLIO di farsi una giornata all'insegna della NATURA E GASTRONOMIA qui potete trovare delle aree DESTINATE PER UN MAGNIFICO PIC NIC e in più un servizio CIVILE DEL COMUNE DI VOLTURARA IMPECCABILE . Se avete un drone l’immagine dall’alto del laghetto è ancora più bella.
