★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Le origini antichissime della chiesa di Romana fanno risalire la prima chiesa e la sua centa al tredicesimo secolo. La contessa Elisabetta di Cormons dono' alla Abbazia di Rosazzo il complesso nel 1326. La chiesa parrocchiale è sorta nel 1699 come appare in una lapide esterna, ma la splendida Madonna con bambino della facciata è di Antonio da Venezia del 1426. Il campanile presenta una tipica cupola a cipolla ed è stato rifatto alla fine dell'Ottocento dopo il distruttivo fulmine del 1879. L'interno curato ed elegante presenta degli altari settecenteschi di notevole pregio come quello di San Valentino in trono tra gli angeli con la pala firmata dal grande artista veneziano Antonio Paroli. Le stazioni della via Crucis risalgono al 1876 e sono dell'udinese Lorenzo Bianchini autore anche degli affreschi nella volta del coro. Una delle chiese più belle dell'arcidiocesi di Gorizia.
The ancient origins of the church of Romana date the first church and its centa to the thirteenth century. Countess Elizabeth of Cormons donated the complex to the Rosazzo Abbey in 1326. The parish church was built in 1699 as it appears on an external plaque, but the splendid Madonna with child on the façade is by Antonio da Venezia from 1426. The bell tower has a typical onion dome and was rebuilt at the end of the nineteenth century after the destructive lightning of 1879. The cured and elegant interior has eighteenth-century altars of remarkable value such as that of St. Valentine enthroned among the angels with the altarpiece signed by the great artist Venetian Antonio Paroli. The stations of the Via Crucis date back to 1876 and Lorenzo Bianchini, also from Udine, is the author of frescoes in the choir vault. One of the most beautiful churches in the archdiocese of Gorizia.
