Anche in questo luogo di preghiera e di raccoglimento tra storia e bellezza accanto alla Madonna Assunta, sul lato sinistro, Lui l'Arcangelo Michele nella sua maestosità. Scultura in legno completa di scudo e spada che con il suo piede allontana il male. Sguardo dolce e gentile che volge ai fedeli. Peccato che non ho trovato nessuno per avere un'immagine dell'arcangelo. Ho trovato quella della Madonna e per questo ringrazio vivamente il padre.

Wooden sculpture complete with shield and sword that removes evil with his foot. sweet and gentle look that turns to the faithful. Too bad I didn't find anyone to get an image of the archangel. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Santuario sorge su uno dei tre colli che insistono su Ficarra (Convento, Chiesa Madre, Castello) ed è stato quasi certamente eretto su un insediamento arabo, come testimoniano gli archi a sesto acuto esistenti nella cripta. L’epoca è riconducibile agli inizi del 1300, periodo in cui i normanni, dopo aver ottenuto il passaggio di tutto il territorio di Ficarra dalla Diocesi di Troina alla Diocesi di Messina, hanno eretto questo tempio con le caratteristiche del proprio stile: assenza di cupola, grandi muraglioni e scelta di luoghi sopraelevati per dominare l’abitato.
The Sanctuary stands on one of the three hills that insist on Ficarra (Convent, Chiesa Madre, Castello) and was almost certainly erected on an Arab settlement, as evidenced by the pointed arches existing in the crypt. The era can be traced back to the beginning of the 1300s, a period in which the Normans, after having obtained the passage of the entire territory of Ficarra from the Diocese of Troina to the Diocese of Messina, erected this temple with the characteristics of its own style: absence of dome , large walls and choice of elevated places to dominate the town.
