Verosimilmente un tempo doveva esistere un'altra chiesa nella zona chiamata Barone, ma le informazione sono limitate e non supportate da documentazione certa.
La chiesa dell'Addolorata nell'attuale sito fu costruita tra il 1882 e il 1908.
L'edificio fu completato e perfezionato nelle forme attuali tra il 1961 e il 1965.
Il 3 agosto 2008 Γ¨ avvenuta la dedicazione della chiesa attuale.
The church of Maria Santissima Addolorata is the main place of Catholic worship located in Via Risorgimento in Santa Marina Salina.
In all likelihood there must once have been another church in the area called Baron, but the information is limited and not supported by certain documentation.
The church of the Addolorata in the current site was built between 1882 and 1908.
The building was completed and perfected in its current form between 1961 and 1965.
The dedication of the present church took place on 3 August 2008.

β β β β β Beautiful place, with a traditional sicilian church and lots of shops and restaurants around. Narrow cool streets with colorful views of the sea and the islands.
Lots of cute fluffy kittens around, visibly strays, but they seem to be well cared for by the locals, there's food and water here and there on doorsteps.
