Giacomo Apostolo il Maggiore (ed anche sede del Santuario di Nostra Signora della Guardia) , poco più che una cappella , risalgono al 1255 ; nel periodo 1712-1738 è stata completamente ricostruita nell' attuale posizione su una collinetta sovrastante Gattorna , frazione di Moconesi (Ge) , che la rende visibile anche da lontano .
The first news of the existence of the parish church dedicated to St. James the Apostle the Major (and also the seat of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Guard), little more than a chapel, date back to 1255; in the period 1712-1738 it was completely rebuilt in its present position on a hill overlooking Gattorna, a hamlet of Moconesi (Ge), which makes it visible even from afar.
